Since I came from smash, I know allllllllll about running your own tournament in a weird ass yet cheap venue.
bringing your own set ups and running around after people to get them to bring set ups as well.

What I used to do was make a small and cheap door fee ( $5-$10 depending on pre-show up lists)
Use the door fee to cover the venue cost and whatever money was left from the door fee went to the pot.

Haha, nice! I actually stopped going to that site as shortly after brawl came out lmao. I rarely posted so I'm surprised you remember me =P.
Ally's Snake is beast though, I'm sure you're pretty damn good at the game too.

Exactly! I used to help with Bi-weeklies here in NorCal and me and my best friend ran NCT and NCT2 (not sure you if you remember those). We basically nurtured our scene for guys like King, SilentSpectre and Tang (Wombo Combo lol), Zhu, Zelgadis, etc. It was really good times, totally free from profit making yet the guys winning would make a decent amount. I'm hoping that my experiment goes well and that it'll inspire more to try it out too.

Add Klassic MK games in this league (MK1-UMK3) with a dose of Post UMK3-Pre MK9 games.

I'd totally pick up MK 4 again if there's anyone out there that is actually good at it. LOL But yeah I really like this idea. But all the way in Cali....damn. -_-

My plan is to actually have every MK I possibly can. Definitely MK2 and UMK3. I want Killer Instinct in there too.

Long live MK! I'm so glad both NorCal and SoCal continue to actively play the game. I sense awesome showdowns in the future :)
Has anyone looked into doing stuff at Gamecenter on Wendsdays and Tuesdays? I believe the deal is still on the table for a NRS event day if we want a monthly.

It'd probably have to be one of the bay area guys that does that. A lot of us are in Sac. Knowing the guys in the bay (with the exception of WannabePlayer) I'd assume no ones's done it haha

Do you have any more info on this? I haven't heard anything about it at all. I'd be glad to help something get set up.

Myung *The owner of GC* has said a couple times he wouldn't mind giving the NRS community a day for events. I'm going down there for Caliburst this weekend *If you play any GG, BB, P$, or Aquapazza on the side, come down* and I'll talk to him about it.
