VxG 2013 UPDATE: Top 8 on Mortal Kombat 9, to be concluded this Sunday!

This is an official update regarding the final Top 8 for Mortal Kombat 9 at the Video x Games 2013! Over at St. Maarten, our champions have battled their way through determined players - and unforeseen complications in the stream and bracket organization - until only eight warriors remained, all of which are ready to storm the finals this Sunday!

If any of this is incorrect, please submit a post and we will rectify the errors immediately. At this time, it is not certain as to which stream channel will broadcast the Top 8 for MK9 this Sunday, but for the moment we will assume it is set at www.twitch.tv/bifuteki. Updates will be brought to you as they come!

For the Injustice supporters, your game will be going live with its tournament at 1 P.M. EST tomorrow, once again at www.twitch.tv/bifuteki. Be sure you tune in when it happens!

This tournament is kinda a joke, wireless controllers random pause, commentators didn't even knew who's playing not to mention actually knowing brackets etc...

Thou pure MK games are always fun to watch. :)

OK can someone fill me in on everything that went wrong? I only caught the beginning until about the PL/16 Bit match...

The gist of it is this:
-Tournament started maybe an hour and half late
-Bracket confusion led to a number of delays between matches
-After Chris G was sent to losers, whoever was running the brackets forgot to put enter him into the losers bracket, so the rest of Losers of his pool was played out as if he wasn't there
-It took a while to figure out what had happened to the bracket, and what to do about it; and it was decided that a lot of the losers bracket of that pool would have to be replayed
-But there was confusion about which matches would have to be replayed, and so some people replayed matches that they did not need to play, and those results had to be thrown out

oh, and I probably don't even need to ask, but I'm assuming there was not 120 people for MK like they said there were,

Hopefully no one gets raped and they get some hot water soon.

They didn't run a bracket correctly, they didn't swap the pools when u lose , they did everything by hand just like that schedule that Insuperable posted

Everyone had to replay their loser bracket matches even people who thought they were eliminated and left and thought they had advanced to top 8 and left

they fucked up the brackets really bad. i was told if i win that match i'm top 8. i won 5 more in a row after that even though some people got just as far going 0-2 because this stupidass didnt fill the bracket right (at some points didnt fill it at all) and there was ...

Anyway, i felt really really bad about that popoff after i learned that, but i couldnt find the other guy to apologize (i think he left). I got 9th to kabal (curbo/jr). i'd beat either of them without kabal, but i'm not good enough to win 2-8 matchups yet (especially since i didnt have a scene at all). why the fuck is that character still legal?

NOTE: it too 4 wins in winners to get top 8, i got a bye, then won, then lost, then played 7 or 8 matches in losers until jr eliminated me. that means i was also put into the rd 1 losers part of the bracket even though i didnt lose till rd 3. my record was 8(or 9)-2 one more win if you count the bye. not bad, but i would have liked to have been in the money.
