You know I just want to say one thing, Perfect Legend seems to have a really good grasp on the way kabal works. So he definetly knows what he is talking about, and his opinon should be heard. Sometimes I blow him up for being a little out there but in this case he has his information. My only worry is getting rid of kabal will make other characters like cage, sonya, cyrax, and kenshi more dominating.

I didn't know this sonya downplaying thing is still going on, I thought that was 2012. Dude she is top 6 for sure, and would run this game along with kenshi if kabal was gone.

They are all not comparable with Kabal, who rules ( almost, at least ) in close and far range, ground and air almost similar...
And the fact, that he can take the opponent in a combo from everywhere is also an important point, which differs him from the other chars, imo.

Kabal and Cyrax are the most dangerous chars in MK9

Sonya is better than Kitana. Sonya is the best female character in the game and top 5.

With Kabal gone, she'd only have Freddy and Kenshi to worry about. I personally think those two MUs are worse than Kabal, especially Freddy. She'd also have to worry about a good kitana as well

Banning Cyrax alone would do nothing. MK9 would have to see Cyrax, Kabal, Kenshi and Sonya banned.

The match with kitana is very debatable. Its either 5-5 or 6-4 in Sonya's favor. I think she beats skarlet tho

I think it is 6-4 sonya personally. And yeah sonya kind of beats the whole cast except for Freddy Kabal and Kenshi haha. Yet people still don't think she is ridiculous. I like you Khaotik, you are always keeping it real. Lol js.

I've made it clear how much I want this game to stay alive and as such, I am super interested in this idea. I feel like it would be a different game without Kabal at a high level. I do think characters become viable without Kabal and the game would be so much more interesting to watch with top players no longer using Kabal.

Banning Kabal won't keep this game alive. MK9 will always be a game of top5 characters. Someone will just replace him as the best ect ect....

YOU WANT TO KEEP MK9 ALIVE??? THEN TRAVEL TO A TOURNAMENT! TUNE IN TO THE STREAM! TELL TOs YOU WANT MORE MK

It is easy, you just have to go support your game no matter what.

Edit: I am a Kabal loyalist, but I would switch to Sonya so fast...

Great point, i agree. It would be interesting to test this format for at least one tournament and see what happens.

For the record, Noob Saibot destroys the meta game of UMK3 and makes you don't play the game.

OK man you need to calm down. Sonya has plenty of close match ups, she is a great character but not kabal.

Let me point out my very important word of TRY. Everyone can speculate all day on what could happen but lets be serious, no one will know unless people try it. Reo may even bring back that Mileena into a tourney

I am just saying that there are risks to it. I am not sure if it would be good or not. Btw i seriously doubt he would go to mileena. Just the next top tier most likely, we have seen him pick kenshi and Kung Lao before.

Ban all the stupid characters and this game would be perfect.
And don't anybody give me any of this, "OH, BUT THEN X CHARACTER WOULD BE TOP," horseshit.
They would take a top spot by default, not because they got stronger.
Would anyone REALLY have a problem if someone like, say, Kitana, was #1, juat as she is now?
