Technically there weren't two guest characters for MK9, each console a different guest character, which I think was fun, like SoCal 2. I don't think there will be any more guest characters in Injustice. Most fans would riot if they put Sub Zero in. I wasn't thrilled with Scorpion but its whatever. I am curious to see what the sixth DLC character, but so far I got at least two characters I really wanted ( MMH and Lobo) and two others that really surprised me. But at this point, i feel relaxed about the next season pass.

I bet Sub Zero was planned but taken out at the last minute due to fan backlash.

So basically, fan whining is what got us a better character in his place.

If Kratos is in MK10, that'll mean he is no guest, as guests usually appear only once.

Perhaps Sub-Zero has been almost-fully developed, and since NRS does not want to waste resources they spent on making his moveset, they'll just give him new animations and a costume to make him Captain Cold?

i dont think you guys are reading into this enough, he never said "NOPE SCREW SUBZERO" what he did say was only 1 guest character. maybe this means scorp is now no loger a guest character and will be appearing in every injustice game as part of the roster, and Subz being the only "Guest character".

How about NO guest characters in fighting games?

You want to make a Mortal Kombat reboot? DON'T put a movie character in it who doesn't belong.
You want to make a DC fighting game? DON'T put a Mortal Kombat character in it.

Simple really.

Freddy krueger kills people in their dreams. Freddy was used in MK9 to introduce The Dream Realm. The Dream Realm goes with all the other realms of MK, and is probably where Zebron, Delia, The One Being manifest from. Freddy DOES belong in MK because MK has The Dream Realm. You want a DC fighting game? Look at MKA KAK.

Superman. KF, GA all have ice abilities. So SZ is probably Zatanna because game balancing not only refers to characters that have buffs/nerfs but also a balance between characters specials.
