What's new

Post-Evo 2013 thoughts on Injustice

What exactly did you like about MK9 in this year's EVO?
The Kabal-fest?
The KL-fest?
The Cyrax-fest?
Or perhaps the Sonya fest?

About the "only being out 3 months", why did I get more excited watching Killer Instinct (game's not even out yet) than Injustice? lol js
I mean KDZ did put on a show with Supes and so did ChrisG with GA... but like u said we all new who was going to win and I think that's what was one of the problems.

Unfortunately neither MK9 nor IGAU really deserve a place in Evo.

MK9 after about 3 years of its release date has finally shown its true face. A very badly designed game with terrible balance (for an Evo game at least). And IGAU that has so many flaws that it can't even be fixed. The whole idea of its gameplay is completely wrong and I really can't see it being fixed. The patches that have been coming out don't really correct the problem...Actually you can't correct it. It is flawed by nature...unfortunately...

While I must admit it was a boring tournament to watch, for me that doesn't mean it's a bad game. I judge games based on how I feel when I play them, not when I watch then

I am fairly new to this community and Injustice is the first non Capcom fighting game that I enjoy playing so I want to see this game thrive and get hyped for EVO 2014 and I just want to share my thoughts about Injustice while I was watching 2013. I do agree that a part of why there wasn't much hype for the top 8 finals is I feel like the pros do need more time for this game and I am actually really looking forward to next year to see more tech and leveling up, but I think Injustices other problem (when it comes to watching the game not playing) is there really isn't a hype mechanic in the game. Example would be MvC3 has the X factor and I am a firm believer as to why this game gets so hyped. There is nothing else like watching someone down to their last guy and pop X factor kill the two guys on their team and now its down to an even match. SF4 has the ultra combo system etc. These are the kinds of hype we see at EVO is comebacks. The other is the crazy combos. Injustice has a nice combo system I think, but when someone is in the middle of doing a nice combo here comes a clash. I really felt like most the time the clash really kills the hype of a match then create one while I was watching Injustice at EVO, and rarely did I feel like someone clashed then worked their way to a big comeback.

Not saying the clash system is bad, in fact, I think it brings strategy into the game, but I think when it comes to spectacles I don't think it's helping much. Who knows maybe its because this game is new and next years EVO the clash system may make some really nice comebacks. I think this game is really really fun, and I enjoy playing it a lot and I really hope to see this game grow. End of my 2 cents.

NightwingDayZero

Truth, justice and the American way.
Heres a Question

if there was less Supermans and BAs in the finals would it be more exciting too watch?

The Joker doing teeth loops.

Lex setting traps and Spirit bombing people.

Nightwing sticking around.

Bane blowing everybody's backs out.

Raven crushing souls from full screen away.

Harley laughing like a goddamn maniac cartwheeling all over the goddamn place.

GRUNDY DONT STOP!

SHAZAM!

THEY DONT CALL HIM THE MAIN MAN FOR NOTHIN!

Yeah. The game would definitely be more exciting to watch. Low tiers in this game are the most interesting characters in the game so far as design is concerned. Fix this fucking game NRS.
