My purpose of starting this thread in an effort to find an Injustice: Gods Among Us XBL training partner. I’m not new to fighting games but decided to pick up IGAU a few months before it was released and have been consistently playing ever since.

I’m looking for someone who has the following characteristics:
· Commitment
· Consistent
· Relentless
· Student of the Game
· Maturity

This person needs to be committed to an organized training routine that will be scheduled at various times throughout the week. This person also needs to be relentless in their effort to improve at all aspects of the game in order to be able to compete at the tournament level. I’d like someone who is a student of the game. Someone who is open is to discuss and break down frame data, matchups, the cast of characters special moves, the cast of characters combos, character tech, defense, strategies, and essentially implement all of the valuable information the TYM community has provided through these forums.

I also listed maturity as a characteristic. I’d prefer for this training partner to be older in their 20s or 30s who has responsibilities (job, family etc.). I typically log on to XBL during the evening after 9:30 PM (Central Time) and play anywhere from 1 ½ to 2 ½ on weeknights and obviously longer during the weekend. I want someone who has limited time but willing to make that time count. It’s all about quality not quantity.

This person can be located anywhere in the world (I’m only fluent in English) as long as we have a decent internet connection. I’m not too worried about time zones (that can be managed). We can obviously communicate through TYM, XBL, instant messenger, email, and via telephone.

It doesn’t matter what characters you main or what play style you prefer. I main Batman, Aquaman, and Flash and gravitate toward rush down characters. Anyone is welcome.

The vision is to level up and improve to participate at Evo 2014, also attend various tournaments along the way, and make a name for ourselves in this community.

I wouldn't mind giving it a shot. I pretty much only play Flash (like 95%+ of the time), but I can also do Green Lantern, Aquaman and Wonder Woman, I guess.

GT is the same as my name. I play out of montreal. If the connection is good, great, if not, oh well.

When we played our connection seems fine and im all for talk about injustice tech and improvement. Im thinking of getting me a capture card to record my games, so there ya go for commitment :p

Well I usually do not play online but considering me and you are from the same area I would probably make an exception. Seeing as you and me have the same mindset about getting better and breaking down MUs instead of this whining and crying business. I also am not 20-30 but I am not going to scream at you on the mic or anything, that is why I usually stay away from online lol

Idk man. Maybe It's just me. I still love mk9. don't caare about IGAU to be honest. i still want to find good challenges on mk9 for xbox. im so tired of seeing scrubs, rage quitters and try hards who are just bad. i want to fight someone who is worth my time. I main jax, johnny, and sonya but i am just as good with shang, cyrax, nightwolf and a few more. is it wrong to want to play a game thats "dead". SSBM is 12 years old and pulled to most viewers to the stream breaking over 99k while mk9 had under 10k. The site is called TEST YOUR MIGHT not IGAU Lovers. I just want to play mk9 and have fun for as long as possible. is it wrong for me to say it? i just want to play with at least 5 different guys who are just as good as i am. maybe i've never heard of you and you might beat me, i want someone to go back and forth with maybe even give the most challenging fights. I can fight kabal, lao, cage and those are jax's bad MU's. I just want to fight people who still respect frame data and have fundamentals on the game. anyone wanna play me on xbl for mk9, hmu KnightWolf214

If I was on XBL I definately take you on. I main Mileena and I don't get this whole MK9 is dead crap, why does it have to die. Sure at EVO we saw a Cyrax player take it and he managed to take 3 Kabalers, as well we actually saw some folks pulling out new tricks and crazy stuff with other characters, why does it have to die. If anything it can coexist with IGAU. I totally don't get it either, because MK10 likely isn't coming at least for another year or so.

is that detrimental to you?

also i doubt anybody on here is a tried-and-true online "whine in your mic" crybaby (i may be wrong) but we have top players that are young and mature for their age.

Thanks for the reply. I'm aware of our epic local meetups up in Denton and Plano :) . I met up with IceColdEdge and some other players a few months back. With my family and work commitments my participation would have been sporadic so playing online is more realistic. Let's chat and make some things happen. I'll add you to the chat if you'd like.

Understood. I'm not saying that younger players aren't mature. I work full time and can't log on during the day so that's what I meant by limited time. It definitely isn't a deal breaker. Everyone I've played from TYM is very cool.

Agreed! That's exactly what I'm looking for. I've been thinking about this for a while. After experiencing Evo for the first time while being a part of the community really was the catalyst for this thread.

I know what you're saying. I watched all of EVO on stream and became motivated to get with a reliable group to study the game and improve. I hope there are some good responses to this thread. Like you said, the quality of the time put in is what will matter.

yeah, i understand. lol the post is just worded weird.

that being said, i hope this pans out for you in the long run. finding a dedicated, reliable online training partner or partners can be difficult sometimes.
