Whats the best way to fuzzy guard?

I'm assuming that means what to do if you're unsure what to defend against?

First round, keep a little defensive, observe everything that your opponent does, and I mean EVERYTHING. Here's how my first round normally goes.

" Ok, he threw a projectile after this string. Note taken. He just used a teleport for the first time. Note taken. He just used tele wake up, for the first time. Note taken. He just used tele wake up for the second time. Note taken. He just used tele wake up a third time. Punish. He always does 2 high hits and then a low hit on a jump in. Note taken."

Basically while youre holding your block up, and trying to guess high low, make notes of the things that are getting through. Try to remember what his high/low normal's look like so that you can adjust your guard accordingly.

I tend to block low most of the time until I get hit by an overhead after the string. Imo blocking low has a lot of advantage because a lot of combos start low and a lot of projectiles hit low. Try what the doctor is telling you and from a solid crouch block, all you have to do is learn when to stand up. As soon as you see someone crossing you with a JP or a JP, make sure you are standing up. That's how I try to learn blocking...duno if it will do it for you tho...

You can fuzzy guard by tapping d while blocking. It's very useful against characters like Liu Kang. What you would do is block low for the first hit of the string because that's when the low hits on his low launcher and release d for the second and third hits because that's when the overhead hits on the overhead launcher. You can then go ahead and jump out because it's better to get hit in the air by Liu Kang than eat a wall carry or just eat pressure and chip damage from his mixups.

This.

Overhead attacks are much slower than most low attacks. So it's much easier to release down on reaction than to press down on reaction to block low. For me at least.

Thing is once you commit to a crouch block it becomes difficult to either tech throws or jump (to avoid an unblockable).
