This is going to be extremely difficult for some, but what are your top 5 favorite albums?

After about 30 minutes of wondering I was unable to decide on my top 5 favorites of all time, so I'm just gonna list my 5 recent favorites instead.

1. My Bloody Valentine - Loveless
2. Godspeed You! Black Emperor - F#A#∞
3. LCD Soundsystem (self titled)
4. Sufjan Stevens - Illinois
5. clipping. - Midcity

Also feel free to discuss music in general. If anyone can recommend me some interesting albums (preferably post-rock, experimental hip hop or folk, but really anything goes) please do.

Coldplay - Viva la Vida

Of Monsters and Men - My Head is an Animal

Keane - Under the Iron Sea

Snow Patrol - Eyes Open

Coldplay - X&Y
I'm not hating on the fact you list 2 Coldplay albums, but the fact you put those ones about Parachutes which is a true masterpiece is insantity.

LOL Don't get me wrong, Coldplay is my favorite band but I tried not to put two of their albums up, but I had to be honest with myself. And I love Parachutes as well, lot of great songs on there that I truly truly love. But I had to be honest with myself there too. X&Y I know is not their most popular album, but it has a lot of meaning to me as it was my first Coldplay album and what got me into them, the songs on their all take me to a place of my past where I was really happy. Their song "Fix You" is my favorite song of all time and has a lot of meaning for me, it was a song I could go to when I was hurting and there was also a time when I was in the hospital from cardiac arrest and was in a coma and this was the song that people would play for me while I was in my coma (this and "Chasing Cars" by Snow Patrol). So that album has weight for me emotionally.

Viva la Vida came out around another pivotal time of my life and the songs there also carry that emotional weight like X&Y did. It was when I met my wife, when we got pregnant, when we had our first born baby girl. It was also the first tour of theirs that I attended (the first concert I ever went to actually).

All the rest of the albums I listed for similar reasons, but Coldplay's definitely has more weight out of all of them with a close second by Of Monsters and Men.

But I love all of their albums, I should have just listed all Coldplay stuff lol
