woah wait i'll try that, if you can give me the correct button combo that would be awesome.
its the 3K (bottom third button) and Select at the same time. It shuts your controller off, so all you have to do after this is hit the home button and youll be back on.

Its not random, its every 8 minutes. Also they released an update that makes the ps360+ default to a ps3 controller before it goes to a ps4 controller (which is done by holding start and 1k i think)

btw what does the new firmware 1.66 actually do? i don't have that version on my hitbox i didn't realize they came out with another one. so i would have to force it into 8 minute mode if i want to use it at tournaments if i install this update? which is preferred, to have it removed for easier compatibility with driver or forced detection?

I haven't been able to find an answer to this question, but whenever I plug my hitbox in and hit OK in the dialog that pops up, the hitbox is immediately associated with player 1. Is there a way to associate it with player 2? If two players are using hitbox (or other ps3 sticks), will they both be able to play at the same time? I'm hoping to go to an event soon, and want to know if using the hitbox is even going to be possible :/

I think if you press Home/PS on the hitbox you can change to player two.

So I recently heard about hitboxes from a buddy of mine and I'm wanting one badly, hah. I just can't seem to figure out what I need to build one. I've looked around and I can't seem to find a guide specifically for a xbox one hitbox. I can build the case easily and can solder well enough but don't know if the crossbone adapter kit from FocusAttack is what I need/all I need to do a custom hitbox. If I could be pointed towards a guide or two or even someone kind enough to drop some tips on the subject I'd appreciate it greatly and I bet there are others that might too, lol.

I would recommend you go to SRK. They have a very active thread about hitbox and they also have an active tech talk thread. The tech talk thread has a lot of modders who can help you with the technical details.

During Combo Breaker I was intrigued by an advertisement (and discount code) for Hitbox Arcade. I;m sure more experienced people know all about it, but the "stickless" controller was new to me.

Anyway, there is a bit of a learning curve on it but I am enjoying it in MKx... but I seam to be having some kind of execution problem as many of my imputs do not seam to come out. I was hoping some Hitbox users might notice this and reply with some tips.. I didn't know where else to ask and my 2 emails to the website have not been answered.

Oh, yes I have watched the "How to Hitbox" videos.

I have all the settings in the controller section set to OFF.

Basically I am having input errors when I am doing Quarter Circle moves, but the strange thing is that the errors only happen during combos.

When you enter quarter circles do you tap the buttons as fast as possible or do you hold them down. Like is DF1 done with quick sequential pressing of D,F then 1... or do I do D, F (hold) then 1.

An example combo problem I am having is with Kotal Khan. Ji1,114,DF1(ex),F2,DB2. Every time I do this instead of the Sun God command grab at the end coming out I get the D2 uppercut and half the time I do not even get the DF1 throw.

I dunno, it is hard to explain, I wish someone I knew could sit next to me and show me how! lol... basically I guess if anyone can give some advise on how to use the device, like all I can think of is that I am inputting to quickly, or I need to hold the directions longer.. or.. I dunno...

Thanks for any advice

Did you turn off the alternate controls?

Try inputting your specials kinda late. Hitbox's make you a really fast player which means you can buffer a string quickly but still gotta wait out until you have that cancel frame for specials. Where as to inputting naked specials(not mid combo) you can input them as fast as possible. I don't even own one or ever even touched one but I'm just trying to help.

When I was playing on Hitbox in Guilty Gear before swapping back to stick, in general:
QFC. Press D(hold), Press F(hold). Release D. This is the right motion for QFC. In practice, what you need to do is sort of roll your fingers through the buttons. YOU MUST get a clean F in the end. If you press your button too fast, you will actually get a D, DF + button input and not a D, DF, F + button. This is very, very important and you need to learn the muscle memory for that. Err on the side of caution in the beginning. It's not the end of the world if your button press is a few frames later than the actual clean forward input. You can worry about hitting the button frame perfect in other games (EWGF, Ramlethal green dauro, etc). It's mostly not needed in MKX.

If you're playing with Input shortcuts, the game will actually accept D, DF as DF motion.

This is especially important for Tiger Knee moves, which there are none in MKX . You needed to make sure that you hit the D, D+F, F cleanly before pianoing UP+button to get Tiger Knee come out. It's very, very easy to lose the clean F input when you try to go fast.

Remember, that in MKX there are... interesting input issues in the game. Let's take Cassie as an example.

B12xxNut Punch. This is her stable combo ender.
If you input it like this:
B12, NEUTRAL, BD3, it will come out every time. You need to repeat the back input to make the special come out. You can't just hold it from the start of the string.

However.
B1, D3 will make nut punch come out. Why, I have no idea. There seems to be a sort of limit on how long the back input counts for.

Now, Kotal Khan.
One of his stable strings is
114xxDF1 (wiff). This leaves you at plus frames and let's you do whatever.

However, if you input
114xxDF1 but you buffer the DF1 too fast, you will actually get 11xxDF4 or even 114DF4 if you smashed 4. This means you we're too fast when it came to inputting that DF and you need to delay it a bit.

This buffer can actually be used to your advantage as well. Take Jacqui as an example.
Her Stable 50/50 from range is
F3/4 ~ B2/4 in a Kara cancel sort of a way. You also need to quickly buffer in a BF2 motion to get the combo to come out in case you hit with your mixup. Especially for the low, it's very fast.
The inputs would be
F4, B4, BF2. and you need to do the last part very, very fast.

However, because of this input weirdness, you can actually do
F4~4, BF2 if you time the back input right.

If you turn on Alternate controls, things break.
F(HOLD) F becomes a dash for god knows why.

If you turn off Input shortcuts, you lose access to Interactable shortcut. This can be very needed since many characters have strings like Cassies
B212,D1+2. If you do this string anywhere near an interactable, you will probably toss it instead since it will count the 1+2 input as the shortcut.

As I said I currently I have everything set to OFF.. one of the reasons was because of accidentally activating intractables.... but I have been playing in practice mode today with "alternative controls" set to ON so it is D,DF,F rather than D,F.. so a proper Street Fighter style QCF. This as well as in fact slowing my inputs down as suggested by Envythis seamed to really help. I'm hitting them a lot better...

I think the problem is actually what Envythis said. The string input is so fast that it is buffered so I am inputting the special move before the cancel frames.

One, your street fighter alpha 3 Sakura profile picture is cute af. That rocks.
Two, remember that this game's combo system does not allow for any extra inputs, if you do anything more than what the combo requires, combos drop.
