Earlier today I found you can't do 33 xx EX bf1, b21 xx tele against fera/torr. As the tele doesn't connect, I guess fera bounces higher than normal after b21 for some odd reason and you go right under. Can someone confirm, or is it just me?
I saw that too. You have to hold 3 for a sec then relaese. You should be able to combo it. Just time it

Yeah, it took forever to get down. Just getting better at doing a njp in combos opens up the potential to do larger two meters or higher damage one meters.

Try doing this:

With instead an EX spear at the end and then an air spear. It has no nj2, so it may be easier if you can cancel kombos well enough.

So: b21 xx > EX Kunai > b2 xx > Teleport > f21 xx > EX spear > Jump forward > Air spear (2 meters, 47%)
Now that I can handle! Great stuff man!
 
After you land a d3 you can safely do a f122+4 or a f12+4. the last hit in those string are overheads so you can mix in a low Kunai to make blocking harder. After you hit the low kunai you have a good hit advantage. Usually They'll block low then, I hit overhead with b21bf1ex.... for combo. Keep em guessing low or overhead.

Takeda can bait people going for armored moves that interrupt kunais in pressure during by using the teleport feint in certain strings such as B21/F122+4 xx Quick Phase Cancel. Haven't gone into it much in the lab but it could end up being pretty useful.

One thing I have found to be slightly helpful when cornered with Takeda, with players like Grandmaster Sub with the ice clone. is to jump back into an immediate DB1 (air grapple). Its about a 40% chance land and it gets you out of the corner plus damage if landed. Look for the opening at get that ass out of the corner cause Takeda gets beat up FAST in there. Also look for maps with the evade obstacle in the corner. Toughest match for me with Takeda thus far is the Grandmaster sub. Once you are out of the corner.. you can punish the slide all day with the F3. You can really get in their head by rushing them down and blocking their wake up into a good punish.

Cant you punish slide with full combo punish (f1,2,1+2,ect..)?


is anyone else having a hard time hitti g his NJP combos online?

i.e b3~exkunai, tele, NJP xx Run xx 44~bf1

Can never hit this online..which is a shame cuz people are so free to b3 after taking like 15 whips to the face

i read (I think on one of these forums) that you can't hit confirm in MKx? Is this rumor confirmed???
You can hit confirm. But in MK9-era engine games, you need at least 2 hits in most cases to be able to hit-confirm into a launcher. So you're not hit-confirming a single normal, like b3, but rather the string.

Depends on the combo. If you're talking about a 44 after a NJP, try running in real quick to get a better position under the falling enemy. This will keep them higher in the air and the spear is more likely to catch them.

Example:
F1, 2, 2+4 xx Teleport > NJP > Run > 44 xx Spear

You can buffer the run right after the NJP before you land. I'm not playing at the moment so I'm not sure of the exact timing, but if you input the run right after the NJP, you'll start running when you land, and then you want to almost immediately cancel the run with the 44.

no just a normal jump in 1 44 into EX spear
or just 44 into EX spear without any jump
cant seem to get that timing down
I will try to get used to the online timing I guess

Has anyone created a MU thread where we can talk about what punishes what in which match ups? On block, hit, and wiff? If we can get something like that going that'd be perfect.

Here's how to make sure a string into spear always comes out:
When you do a string into spear, don't just do back forward and let go immediatly. You have to press back then forward and hold forward longer and it will come out almost everytime.

Found a overhead + low combo for 37%. Skimmed through the thread and don't think it's been posted before.

1 bar, 37% b21 xx EX-kunai ~ tele ~ 33 xx spear

This combo is range sensitive. The EX kunai doesn't juggle if you are too close and it does a lot less damage if you're too far away. That said, the sweet spot is pretty generous and you are in range for this combo after a throw :)

Maybe you can do more after the tele than just 33 xx spear, but I couldn't find any better options.
