Basically, I'm going all out for MKX and I want to have the best possible quality stream as soon as possible. I wanna be able to stream at 1080p 60fps off of my Elgato using either OBS or Xsplit and I need some help with finding a PC that will help me do that. What are the most important parts I should be looking for to get the best quality? I'm a noob when it comes to building PC's so any help is appreciated. So if you guys can drop your specs in this thread to help me out that will be great!

I actually don't run 60 fps so I'm not sure. I stream off my good quality laptop but if I was to stream at 60fps 1080p I'd probably need to get a desktop :/

I believe it's more based on your internet than your computer (as long as your computer is able to run the game in 1080p 60fps). That said, you can find some good info using https://obsproject.com/estimator. If your internet sucks, there are ways to put more of the load on your cpu, but they're pretty dangerous and can overload your cpu if you're not careful. For more info on that, check out

I have pretty decent internet so I think I should be able to handle 60fps fine. Thanks for this video though this really helps!

Would it matter which generation i5 or i7 cpu or what type of ram ( not just 8gigs of ram) I have a 2010 MacBook Pro with 8g of ram and an i7 processor and I'm not sure if it'll work.

This is the internet I'm working with atm.

I'm gonna look at different pc's with i7's and decent enough RAM and graphics cards. I don't need anything too crazy just something that will stream smoothly and strong enough for me to be able to play games on. Not looking for max settings at all.

1. You cant stream at 1080p because twitch doesnt allow that quality to non partnerd streams. 2. Most peeps that stream pc have a game pc and a stream pc. 3. Popeyes is life

What are your specs? I don't really care for it to be a gaming pc as much as a streaming pc.

Recommended I'm not sure in terms of min, but for my next rig I'm going overkill ($1200-$1500) to last this generation through, going for a higher end i7 this time, 16gigs of ram, 2 solid states in the 250-500 gig range, the newest black magic intensity capture card which does up to 4K, and an NVida Card in the $250 range. This is way way overkill again even for 1080p, but again, you need a solid internet connection to do this as well, at least 10mbit, hardline dedicated upload @6000 bitrate, if I'm off with these numbers please help me out.

Edit: I should add a lot of this is to compensate for potential updates to streaming in the near future.

PC is VERY important; but not for you, for your viewers.

The more powerful your PC, the more you will be able to compress the signal... leading to higher quality for your viewers at a lower bitrate.

That being said... if you want to do 1080p 60fps... don't stream on Twitch. Compare a 1080p60 stream on Hitbox VS Twitch, and you would swear they are completely different settings; even if they are exactly the same. When it comes down to it, 60fps on Twitch isn't actually fully 60fps; its more like 50fps, and the quality is very low. There is no real reason to stream above 720p60 on Twitch because their service just doesn't handle it very well.

Compare to a real 1080p60 stream on Hitbox:

Yeah I gave up the 1080p dream lol. Do you think an i5 will cut it for 720p60? I'm trying to make a solid rig for streaming but not trying to spend too much money. Probably 800 max.

An i5 should be just fine. But if you're serious about building a strong rig, I'd save some more money and up the budget, because while BYOC parts have gotten cheaper over the past several years, $800 will rack up fast.
