That's what I was wondering once it turned dark.

I guess instead of running in a straight line after the guards, they figured it was better to take the time to climb up and over everything and randomly flipping while pursuing them.

I mean they probably sat down for a drink and a breather off camera too, it's tiring doing all that unnecessary jumping.
