Numbers went up again this week and we actually had enough interested parties to run a Round Robin MK tournament. @Darkbloom and PestoSwami couldn't make it due to school and work has @hard_goodbye in a triangle choke keeping him from attending as well. Luckily we had @KRYS9984 returning this week, @rehti and @xQUANTUMx finding time to play some games as well and finally the return of @Jer who some how managed to get through the night with little to no sleep, #Machine.
Before we get down to business, everyone here at Montreal Mayhem would like to thank @GGA Saucy Jack for giving our scene a shout-out during the first episode of the new "Consider the Following" podcast. We appreciate it, in fact shout-outs to that whole podcast for giving us some great entertainment!
Injustice
The first round was only one match due to the awkward brackets made when having a 9 man tournament. It was @CanadianBaconX facing off against @Chuckychuck in a match of stance switching... Or it would be if Bacon actually used Sword stance. While losing the first game Chuck was able to keep it together and take 3 straight to send Bacon to losers 3 - 1.
The next round was clearly... Skill Gap the bracket. @T.roll or #BoRaiCho started off his night with 3 drinks and with 3 losses getting sent into losers by ChuckyChuck 3 - 0. KRYS and @Mortal Komhat had a quick 3 - 0 as young Billy Batson is still learning to keep up with Bruce Wayne's #SuperiorTech. Jer playing his first match of Injustice at a weekly in months wasn't able to ride the wave, as his Aquaman was taken down by #MeowMixArmy leader @Ecodus 3 - 0. Then finally Quantum took down our resident Joker in Rehti with another 3 - 0.
Sadly the 3 - 0's didn't stop there as Ecodus pulled another clean sweep sending Quantum to losers bracket. In a much closer match, Chuck and his Nightwing was able to squeeze past KRYS' Batman with a 3 - 2 win.
With winner's finals set it was Ecodus' Catwoman against Chuck's Nightwing, in what was another close set, Ecodus was able to just beat Chuck, once again showing Chuck's difficulty with the feline.
Loser's Bracket started with Bacon and Rehti trying to make up for early loses. Unfortunatly Joker was still having trouble dealing with Wonder Woman's tools as Rehti was taken out with a 3 - 0... Which was technically a 4 - 0 but, no one listened to Bacon when it said it was already three cause no one pays attention! However still good showing from Rehti, his Joker can grow to be a problem with time but, he had a hockey game to get to in 30 mins so, the lost wasn't all bad.
Next up, Hatman's Shazam seems to be back on the losing trend as he was 3 - 0'd by T.Roll. The other match was Jer facing off against Bacon, this match was interesting. Jer hasn't been to the weekly in a long time but, took a commanding 2 - 0 lead against Bacon's Wowo. The people watching the match were split, some didn't want to see Bacon get blown up while others wanted Jer to play better so that Bacon would have play better in turn. However Bacon was able to adapt to dealing with Jer's Aquaman's ability to completely stop all of her air dashing shenanigans making a come back and taking the set 3 - 2.
Bacon moved on past his really close set with Jer to face off against KRYS who was coming off a lost to ChuckyChuck. Once again as it always seems to be between this two, KRYS just out matched Bacon eliminating him from the tournament with a 3 - 0. While this was happening Quantum and T.Roll faced off and despite his large array of characters, T.Roll wasn't able to stop Super Quantum from taking him out with a 3 - 1.
Sadly the #KryptonianLaserShow had to close it's doors early as KRYS and Quantum faced off for the spot in Loser's Finals to face Chuck. KRYS clearly not ready to give up his spot at the top of the Montreal Mayhem mountain, taking out Quantum 3 - 1.
Loser's Finals was a rematch from earlier. Chuck was able to barely send KRYS to losers, this time things were different. A whole new Batman appeared and took it to Chuck's Grayson. It was a 3 - 1 but, you could tell KRYS wanted to take this whole thing.
A very familiar Grand Finals awaited us at the end of the night. Ecodus vs KRYS. Catwoman vs Batman. Ecodus was coming from winners. KRYS would have to obviously reset the bracket to win it all. This wasn't something KRYS was new to, he's done it before, multiple times at that...
KRYS played great, it's really hard to fault Ecodus for what happened but, I know he's not one to take it lightly. Being 3 - 0'd for the reset and then 3 - 0'd again to lose the entire set is a pretty rough way to go out. However, knowing Ecodus, I'm sure the doge training regime is in full effect and he will be more then ready to bounce back next week to make up for what happened this week.

Mortal Kombat
Yes, you are reading this correctly we finally played some Mortal Kombat this week. We only had 5 so it was time for a Round Robin tournament!
Last Place was held by... KRYS! Going 1 - 3, he didn't seem to be playing his best this week, even picking Sub-Zero against Bacon and T.Roll instead of his usual Ermac, Mileena or Cyrax. However, his one win was against T.Roll taking advantage of T.Roll's Sub-Zero weakness.
Fourth went to Bacon, also going 1 - 3, even though he went all Sindel, he was just out played by everyone this week. His one win coming off of KRYS, who picked Sub-Zero and got x-ray'd both times for the lost... I'm sure Sub's ice globes aren't feeling too great after that.
Middle of the pack went to T.Roll. He was able to beat both ChuckyChuck and Bacon with his Cage but, lost both his matches when he didn't play Cage due to KRYS playing Sub-Zero and Jer apparently having his Cage's number. This reluctance may have costed him in the long run as he only was able to walk away with a 2 - 2.
Chuck and Jer both got a record of 4 - 1 which would be a tie, however since Jer's only lost was to Chuck, that was the tie breaker needed to settle it as Jer ends up in 2nd place while, ChuckyChuck takes the first Mortal Kombat event of Season II... With Baraka!
