I'm clearly joking, no character NEEDS an infinite. For christ's sake.No she doesn't she has enough damage as it is~assassin 40%+ off of almost any hit confirm. Mournful might be a little less but the rush down is more than enough compensation. She doesn't need to have this infinite, it would just ruin the character. If they can find a way to just take it out without ruining ij2 or glaives and just make f33 not combo into glaive more than 3 times.
WHY WOULD ANYONE PLAY HER AS A PIRE RUSHDOWN?! We are smart enough to know that she's a pure defensive character. And in this game, its apparent that those characters struggle. I DONT CARE ABOUT 50/50s so stop. But on the point of 50/50s so what if her low does 40% people shouldn't be blocking high against her. She her projectile is good, yes her damage is good. We know our character. But we also know her flaws. Unsafe everywhere, and no mix ups to compliment her unsafeness. If she had a safe special move she wouldn't need a 50/50. Ugh. At least she's beautiful in this game.So much complaining on these forums about how Kitana is bad.... Guys should stop trying to play her like a pure rushdown character. Even though she can't combo overhead, her low starter combos into 40%, and any other hit confirm gives at least 33%+, and 40%+ if you have those. I can hit it on mileena, should be able to hit it on anyone if you can hit it on her.I can only get this to work on male characters.

You are totally entitled to your opinion and my response is not intended to be mean or antagonistic. With that said...So much complaining on these forums about how Kitana is bad.... On a side note Chris, can you not refer to her b14 as a low starter? Because it's not. It's an easily blockable segment of a string with an 18 frame mid starter.
Mileena's f4 is a low starter.

I say f22fan to combo and make fan -5.My mistake, don't know why I referred to it as a low starter. But that's not the point. The point is that she can combo from a low into a 40% which probably most characters can't do without meter. If she had easy combo starters we wouldn't be having this conversation. For example, give Sonya's b14 and replace it with Kitana's and the game would be pretty much over in 2 hits against a good Kitana player. She has insane damage which can be hard to hit, but you can't have insane damage and crazy mixups unless the developers want the game to be unbalanced.

1.)Literally no one is attempting to play Kitana as rushdown. Why would they? If they are, the people they play don't punish her.
2.) The days of landing b14 into 40 percent will be short lived because the opponent has no reason to block overhead.
3.) Competent and high level competitive players have already stopped jumping against her and ducking her fans. That completely nullifies any damage you will be getting from a landed air fan. Not to mention so many Kitanas are throwing fans point blank which are -10.
I play Gunshow (who just won an offline event) everynight and he will get Kitana backed up into a corner within seconds and then that's when her truly unsafe design shines.
She doesn't need "Cassie Cage esque" mixups. She needs plus frames and real range. Or the ability to stagger strings with a low starter like Kano. Or mid hitting fans. Lol literally no one is suggesting she should be rushdown.
Her opponents jumping around and throwing out unsafe attacks/specials is what makes people say she is "okay". Other than a punish the only damage kitana will inflict are from tick throws, the occasional fan, her armored wakeup, or a random b2.
In the casual world, yeah, she is "okay". Competitively speaking, she doesn't stand a chance.
She has an infinite that will be banned from tournament + patched out. Not sure that helps her case.

that's not true. I got to 70% just doing the infinite but meter build also scales so you can get to 70% without building a bar for the opponent.My friend said he got to 60%+ before the damage scaled and it stopped doing damage.

Finding an infinite that shouldn't be there and will be taken out doesn't mean shit to her frame data and general design.
Negative frames, unsafe specials, no lows or overheads, nothing cancelable. This isn't The Great Sphinx...there is no mystery to this cut and dry character.

Most games don't ban infinites. I know Fuerte's, All of the MVC2/UMVC3 ones, pretty sure even the UNIEL Waldenstein infinite was allowed to rock. Oh yeah and every duck cancel combo in SFA3 and SC3.Eh its an infinate so this technically would be banned anyway out of tournaments.
I didn't play Mk9 so I'm not seeing how that's bad or good. 70% and not building even one bar for your oppomen is very much in kitanas favor. It means you could get to 100 and they can't break out.That's pretty bad then. But still not worse than Cyrax.
