You can't HK it, and uppercut must be in anticipation (done early) and that is character specific.

USE RH to anti air or walk in and block it so he is higher up which makes him have more recovery then you can pressure him with close HP or jabs or HK check him.

Baraka and Liu's RH are the best against Shang/Baraka JK and Male Ninja RH work as well but the timing is tighter.
