"He could drag a broom to a 3 star match"........

Anyone who has followed pro wrestling has heard that phrase, it has been said about greats like Ric Flair and Shawn Micheals, the implication being they could have a good match with an inanimate object.

Kota Ibushi sets out to prove it.

He puts his DDT world title on the line against YOSHIHIKO's Ironman belt, which is a parody of the WWF hardcore title, 24/7 rule and all.

The only thing is, YOSHIHIKO is a blowup doll.

haha yeah. There are all kinds of things that go over in Japan that could never swing here in the US. I came up with an idea for a comeback spot I could never do here in the US, but I have a friend who does a Mexican gimmick on the side and he's going to try it out.

Basically during the heat change before the finish, the face's big come back will be a counter move, and then crawl to the corner, pull himself through the ropes, stand up, raise his hand and tag himself back in for a "self-hot tag" and then run in, fire up and do bump/feed punches, bodyslams, dropkicks, etc into the finish, whatever that may be. NEVER HAPPEN HERE.

This sounds like something that would be done in Chikara (US Indy promotion out of Philadelphia). They do a lot of wonky comedy stuff, so it wouldn't shock me to see a self-hot tag.

Chikara is batshit insane, and yes, it's a niche product in the U.S. but when you have stuff like:

You've got to admit, they've made wrestling fun again.

I would watch it.

Vid in the OP reminds me of something that would be in HUSTLE over in Japan. I love that promotion. I like really technical old school stuff just as much, but Japan does the 'entertainment' part of 'sports entertainment' so much better than WWE does.

Hustle was a fun promotion while it lasted, it made Takada relevant again after a failed MMA career.
