Age does play a major part, but the choices in the poll aren't adequate (with choice #4 being the closest to accurate). According to a major study of pro Starcraft 2 players, decline starts at age 24, meaning any player age 24 or younger would have a growing advantage against players older than 24. However, I'm not sure how severely this decline would affect fighting game performance, since it's based on Starcraft APM (actions per minute).
