ive been a fan of borderlands ever since release, and ive heard a fair few people claim it had lots of problems, but they never actually list them.
in your opinion, what made the game flawed? and how is being catered to console players a bad thing?
Catering to console players isn't a terrible thing, but if you come from a PC gaming background you tend to want a bit more depth in your RPG's. This isn't a problem unique to borderlands though, as more and more WRPG's have been going to consoles they have been stripped of depth and mechanics to make them more console friendly.
As for flaws for BL, all IMO of course.
No player trading
No storage
A lot of weapons were very samey
The environment's were also samey and kinda bland
Vehicles controlled poorly. Tried to emulate halo controls but didn't pull it off very well.
The above problems have been fixed for BL2
The ones below have not, or too early to tell.
The skill trees are very shallow
Each character only has one active skill
Most missions were very generic MMO fetch quest, lacked a boss battles and good set pieces
Game had no challenge, second wind mechanic is too abusable.
Game just lacked balance, from difficulty, to stats, to the enemies, it was all over the place.
It was very difficult to play with your friends if you were not the exact same level.
This is all off the top of my head, I played it when it first came out and haven't touched it since.
Despite its flaws though, it was one of the better Co-op shooters.
