I don't know if there will be any tourney for 2018 and later, but since MK11 is around the corner I don't think there will be any more tournies for MKX, unless someone wants to organize them.
That's true, however, they have the habit to release their game, like, 2 years after the newly released game. I'd say 2 years are quite close with each other.I don't know if I'd say MK11's around the corner. Probably won't even get any confirmation or announcement of NRS's next game till Summer next year with a release Spring the following year.
Still plenty of time to play and host some MKXL tournaments. I personally don't, but I know plenty would still like to participate and watch some MKX tourneys.
If people wanna play and tournies are still talking place for the game, then the game hasn't been gone out of fashion yet. Dev support/publisher investment from NRS/WB isn't the sole factor for being alive or not.nrs games go out of fashion in 2 years usually, so mk11 is still a year and a half or so away.
they lied through their teeth that they'll keep supporting mkx but I'm seeing no evidence of it after 8 months.
It has gone out of fashion and now injustice 2 is in fashion, much like injustice 1 went out of fashion when mkx came out.If people wanna play and tournies are still talking place for the game, then the game hasn't been gone out of fashion yet. And that's because? Oh wait, there is no reason why.It has gone out of fashion and now injustice 2 is in fashion, much like injustice 1 went out of fashion when mkx came out.
The reason is that the hype train moves onto the next game. There are always a few smaller events afterwards but nobody plays injustice 1 or mk9 anymore. And that's because?
If MK9 was the most watched side tourney out of all the rest at EVO 2014, way after IJ1 was out and less then a year before MKX, how there is was no hype for that game even at that period? It was still hyped. Also, MKX got huge reactions and hype at Viennality, and we got the Runback simply because of fan support and love of the game, and we still got more to come, months after IJ2 is out. None of that could've happen if there was no hype. The reason is that the hype train moves onto the next game. tldr you want to believe that games don't die once the new game comes out.If MK9 was the most watched side tourney out of all the rest at EVO 2014, way after IJ1 was out and less then a year before MKX, how there is was no hype for that game even at that period? And as for MK9 and IJ1 in this particular current period, this thing happens with any fighting game franchise. MK9 and IJ1 got their sequels in both MKX and IJ2, just like SF4 and MVC3 got their sequels in SF5 and MVCI, of course there are not gonna be any tournies for MK9, IJ1, SF4 or MVC3 now, but it's no longer a 2 year period for NRS games which is by the game, it is now 4 years which is by the franchise itself. Until MK11 comes out, MKX till still get tournies, just like with IJ2 until IJ3 comes out.
I gave you the history of the same scene you talk about, and it shows that the games, and especially nowadays, don't die by the minute the new game comes out. A game's life is a lot more then just a couple of components, but you wanna ignore those facts, not my fault.tldr you want to believe that games don't die once the new game comes out.
They do.
Welcome to the nrs game scene.
It's an ESL free-entry tourney, it's a good place to meet good players online an hone your skills.I get a notification on my PS4 menu occasionally about something called "Community Cup". It was the 55th one last time, apparently.
It's been like this lately as ESL got a contract with Sony (dunno about Microsoft and Nintendo) to announce stuff like this to broaden their online tournies.I get a notification on my PS4 menu occasionally about something called "Community Cup". It was the 55th one last time, apparently.
