AK RM Blake's UFGT:X Shout-Outs Thread + Public Apology

GamerBlake90

Blue Blurs for Life!
In spite of how unsuccessful I'd been at UFGT last weekend, shout-outs must be given where they are due.

Before I start, though, I have to extend an apology to anyone and everyone who had to be on the receiving end of my bitterness I'd accrued from going 0-2 at the tournament. It is nothing personal towards any of you and I always wish everyone the best. The fact that I'd been blown aside so easily after weeks of relentless training and little sleep took quite a toll on my mental state and I wound up isolating myself while the hype was going on. It sucked to be eliminated so early on and then basically have no further part to play while everyone else had their shots at glory. Kinda like I wasn't there at all, actually.

Regardless, I have no-one to blame for that but me. I set the bar very high for myself after ECT and didn't deliver. I don't know where I went wrong or why...but I hope to figure out the answers soon. I can't and won't rest until I redeem myself, if there is still hope for that.

I also have to apologize for the fact that my money match with @FOREVER KING didn't happen. I know a lot of you were eager to see it happen, as was I, but sadly that was not to be the case. As I told him face-to-face, with the way things had been going, I knew that I was not ready as a player to compete with him. However, to ensure he didn't come all the way over there for nothing, I stood by my wager and handed him his prize right before the Top 8 started. It was originally going to be a $35 money match, but I upped his winnings to $40.

Maybe I'll challenge him again when I pick myself back up...we'll see.

So...yeah. I was not a happy camper. But enough with the depression. Shout-outs to:

@Ne'er-do-well - I love your creativity with Killer Frost, and the fact you're an emotional player like myself. It's a barrier we both have to overcome, it seems, but at least I'm not alone in having to face up to it. I hope to see you online and offline again soon.

@HoneyBee - okay. I bow to your Flash. Even the counter-measures I came up with on the way to UFGT meant nothing against you. I've been able to take games off other Flash players, but you make it seem like Flash 10-0's my Batman (although it's actually 5-5). That alone is a testament to your skill. I am no match for you. Props for making Top 8 and bringing pride to the Flash community!

@Perfect Legend - glad to cross paths with you again in Chicago, and good job on winning MK and cracking the Top 8 in Injustice! Coming back from being down 0-2 against HoneyBee was just amazing to see.

@GGA 16 Bit - for being as entertaining as always to be around. The Catwoman win pose is so funny to see, LOL!

@GGA Saucy Jack - I can add our runback to the list of things that didn't get to happen at UFGT, but oh well. There's always another time. One day, you will DESTROY THEM ALL!

@GGA Wafflez - still the Smoke of the world, I see. Good shit. Unfortunately I didn't get to see your matches in Injustice, so I've got a ton to catch up on, but I'm sure you did well!

@AK Pig Of The Hut - thanks for the ride back to Atlanta. Before anyone goes and says it, no, I wasn't stranded. My original ride had to go back to New Jersey for a few days after we finished with UFGT and I wanted to just go ahead and head on home, so he and Austin gave me a lift. Casuals on the way back were fun, too.

@AK Dream Sword - see my above note to Pig. And thanks for trying to be supportive while I was playing in the tournament...it's unfortunate you had to see me fail instead. As for you, I see you've been putting a lot of your victims to bed on stage, LOL!

@AK Reno_Racks - you were a surprise appearance at the tournament, but a welcome one as well! As always, I thank you for your pleasantries. See you back home, sir!

@AK XEN0M0RPH - I'll be eager to ask about how UFGT went for you the instant I see you again. I'm privileged to have been allowed to sponsor you for the tournament. Hope your experience was a good one.

@GGA Max - your Bane was causing quite a storm, not that it comes as a shock to me. What does intrigue me is how far you've come as a player since we fought in MK9. Well done, sir.

@Sajam - although our only interaction was me having to listen to you talk about Nightwing while I fought Nightwing players, it was still great meeting you. We'll talk more if we meet again.

@SonicBoomBrad - the BASED ROSE SHIRT! Need I say more?

@Cash - I like how enthusiastic you are. I should come down to your scene sometime and see how you all kick it. Thanks for the casuals.

@Filipino Man - that Wonder Woman deserves all the props in the world for making Top 8 in Winner's. Judging by my matches with you, I knew you'd be taking some scalps. Great stuff!

@Espio - finally I got to hug you! I'm so happy. <3 And that Hawkgirl is a force to be reckoned with. I'm fortunate you have joined RM. That late night with Cal-EL and Austin in Room 1439 still hasn't left my head. So much trolling abound!

@Cal-EL - I know I've trolled you to death at the hotel, but I needed to cheer myself up somehow given how disastrous the weekend was for me. Regardless, know that your presence is always a welcome one for me. Our staff is lucky to have you with all the hard work you do for our sake.

@limbodawg - was an astonishment to see you out here. Can't wait to play you again. Aquaman may be uphill for Batman, but I don't turn such a match-up away.

@Noobe - although I never actually got to fight Doomsdays at UFGT, you deserve my thanks nonetheless for preparing for that match-up. Good stuff in the tournament! DOOMSDAY OF THE WORLD.

@DarthArma - gratitude goes out to him for allowing me to crash at his place a few days prior to UFGT. Was also great meeting and playing with @Indecisive, @Frantastic23, @XBL Mind Gamez, and @Decay II. I hope to pay a visit to the NJ scene again soon!

@Kitana Prime - I play Aquaman, so we're not friends anymore. :p Nah, but seriously, we'll run back more matches soon. Still haven't forgotten our 60-game run we had online. Daaaaaaaamn.

@Syknis - we agree that Batman vs. Aquaman is extremely uphill for Batman, but even then, it's not common that an Aquaman player flusters me so much. The only others to do so - as I remember - were @Tom Brady and Emperor Theo. I apologize again for my salt levels flinging out of control in our casuals, I was getting too frustrated. :( I hope that hasn't turned you off.

@Digit - yep. You like being a hero. Keep repping that Shazam! Your top placement is well-deserved.

@Fromundaman - I believe you were the Joker player I fought Sunday morning, or am I mistaken? If you are, it was a pleasure playing you. Poor Joker, he needs buffs. :(

@Compbros - I know you've wanted those offline casuals with me for a long time and now it has finally happened. I hope you didn't walk away disappointed. See you online again soon, and keep it up.

@Delriach - your commentary for the tournament is appreciated.

@KHAOTIC_Biohazard - thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for the Bane experience. And I'll have to take the suggestion you and Ne'er do well gave me for when I emulate Batman's super move. Too fucking cool, LMAO.

Forever King Jr. - you also get my thanks for the Bane experience. My use of the parry may have surprised you simply because I play differently from your brother. I look forward to whenever we rematch.

@P2W - bodied me with that Sinestro. Whether my Sinestro experience is limited or plentiful, I have no excuses for how I played. Thanks for the games. I've got a lot of homework to do.

@gpmoney - beast-ass Nightwing, sir. Those matches with you were definitely worthwhile.

@EMPEROR_THEO - what can I say? First SCR, and now UFGT. You are on the RISE with that Aquaman. All will bow to the King of Atlantis!

@RDK|Tyrant - I'll need to train with you more often in Killer Instinct. I have a long way to go with that game. And you still haven't played me with that Grundy!

@RDK|GodSpeed - what are you doing playing MK?! Stick to Black Adam! :p Anyway, I'm certain you did well in Injustice. I gotta catch up on your matches when I can.

@GGA Fill Pops - one word. LOOOOOOBOOOOOOOO!

@gross - I have no excuses. Your Green Lantern had my number, both in the tournament and in our money match. I used to have that match-up down like the back of my hand, but this time around I was out-played by you and by Xeno.

@OG Mannimal - the outcome of our match has left my soul crushed (literally). You know why. Damn that clock. But regardless, you have a solid Raven and I certainly can't and won't discredit you. I'll be gunning for revenge.

@Chaosphere - casuals in your hotel room were fun. Now why didn't you and I play?! :(

@TheTruth4591 - RM now and forever, brotha. As low as my spirits were at UFGT, seeing my RMs prosper is always a blessing. Skype me whenever you wish, sir.

@RedRaptor10 - was a pleasure finally meeting you offline. Your Deathstroke has a bright future ahead of him. And our MK9 casuals were a fitting re-enactment of all our online sparring, minus the lag. <3 you, Red.

@GGA pimpimjim - now whenever I think of you, the sound of a hawk cawing its lungs out will always explode in my head. -_- LOL, but seriously, you brought a lot of fun to the tournament. Good stuff.

Forever King - congrats on taking second at UFGT! The Batman community honors you. I've always looked up to you and your Batman since we fought at pre-FR Scraps and I regret that I had to forfeit in our money match. As I already explained, I came to see that I had a lot of work to do before I am truly ready to test myself against you.

Maximillian - I can't express how privileged I am to have met and played you in the Killer Instinct tournament. I also overheard your interview while I was sitting outside the ballroom and you definitely embody the real spirit of a fighting game player. I wait for the next time we speak and play again.

@AL Eevee - keep at it, man. Your Harley will become dominant the more you practice.

@GGA Dizzy - you were abusing Cage's uppercut like crazy and it was paying off so much until the end of the tournament when PL ran it back. Always was the Cage player to beat, always will be. Props, dude.

@NB Semi Evil Ryu - thanks for the encouragement on sticking to Batman. I have no intention to desert the defender of Gotham no matter how bitter my tournament experiences may get.

Lastly, I definitely have to give shout-outs to Keits and the rest of the UFGT team for ending this tournament on such a high note. I have nothing but applause for you guys. I may not have been active much, but I'm not ignorant to the good time that was had by many people. It's regrettable that this is to be the final UFGT, but rest assured that your efforts will be remembered by all who took part.

I know there are other names I haven't yet listed, but it's only because I either forgot their names or I do not know their handles on here. Rest assured, though, you are always a part of my memory. Props go to the guys I played in both the Injustice and Killer Instinct tournaments.

Good games. Till next time...

Hey Blake! Yeah sorry we didn't play. I started drinking after I lost out of pools so by the time 1-2am rolled around, I was pretty sloppy. I tried to play pig in the room and it wasn't working out so I gave up on casuals for the night. I ended up passing out while casuals were still happening so I really have no idea what happened during or after that.

Indecisive

We'll burn you all—that is your fate!
Its good to see you picking yourself back up. Don't take your lose too hard. From a person who has basically gone 0-2 at each big tournament he has gone to i know that shit is hard and it hurts. It was good seeing you in Jersey. It sucks we could not play more. stupid converter. :(. But just keep practicing. I know it sounds kinda lame. But thats all you can do to some extent. You win some and you lose some. Take each lose as a learning experience. Learn from what happened. Do not put so much stress on yourself though. Come back next time stronger than ever. And dam you should have come back to Jersey. :p. Best of luck dude.

Rewatch your matches if they were on stream. Analyze where you got opened up, and figure out what you did wrong. More importantly though, never forget that this is a game where anyone can win on any given day. You should never expect that you are going to steam roll over your opponent.

@AK RM Blake I'm flattered  lol. You have a very nice batman, great spacing, footsie game, and you know when and how to punish, best of all you always finish it with style .
You are a great player and I gotta admit I underestimated you because I thought you turtled so I was just gonna rush you down and try to get in your head, but after playing you I know why you play that unique style. Would love to run back a long set at anytime dude.
UFGT was my worst injustice performance I went 1-2 but the 1 win was a DQ so I tech went 0-2 ( that's what I'm counting it as) I know how you where feeling but don't ever let that stop you from playing mang.

I write too much.
Yeah I was the Joker player you got matches against, and thanks for all the games; can't believe I forgot to put you in my own shoutouts (Oops... Played too many people).

And blah, I think other than a few tweaks (Mids that actually hit mid against the entire cast, for one), Joker's fine. You just outplayed me, and TBH the Batman matchup has long been a personal bad MU (Although I'm starting to get better about it).
Hopefully soon I'll get good enough to show off Joker's stupid shit and show he's not nearly as bad as people think.

They were not streamed, unfortunately.

@AK RM Blake thanks for adding me on PSN, Respect.
I added you?

Blake we're gonna have a serious talk about money when we see each other again
Oh, don't start that. -_____-

Blake is the biggest fraud Batman player I've ever seen. ;p
Yep. :(

Blake I'm sorry to hear about your experience. I know going 2 and out sucks, but it's hard to always be on your game.

Sorry I missed your request today, we gotta play again sometime.

Yeah... I really don't want to be the ChrisG or Sanford brand of emotional gamer, but I guess thems the brakes until I develop my self-discipline more. Your Batman was super strong btw, I had no idea you went 0-2, based on our casual play Friday night I wouldn't've thought it possible. Says alot about the level of competition and the rigor of competing at UFGT this year.

Well, as long as we haven't broken controllers after losing at a tournament, I think we're fine in the emotional department, LOL.

And I wasn't expecting to go 0-2 either...I think this marks the first time I ever did. If so, that made it all the worse. :(

Stay free @AK RM Blake jk jk.

Man I promise you everyone has bad tournaments from time to time. It happens to the best of us. I've had at least 4 different Street Fighter tournaments where I've gone 0-2. The best thing you can do from there is level up & take some knowledge back with you.

You are still are one of the best Batman players out there & I'm privileged you live here with us in ATL. Soon man I promise you the hardwork that you put in will pay off. Just don't give in. Your time will come. Plus you got me for training. ;)

Just because it's happened to other people doesn't mean I will excuse myself for it. You of all people can understand my mentality perfectly. I know for a fact I trained to be way better than this, with the best no less, and my showing last weekend failed to reflect that. I'll never forgive it until I absolve for it.

We'll talk more the next time I see you.

I'll be waiting, sir. :)
