Do you even lift bro? Workout thread....

So who here lifts, does cardio, MMA, dieting, etc? What supplements are you taking (legally of course)?

I've been working out for the past 10 years or so since my sophomore year in high school. I try to have a healthy mix of cardio and strength training.

Last year I really took my cardio to another level by incorporating the BEST single and cheapest workout I have ever done. Jump rope.

I started off slow doing three sets of a hundred and built up over two months to doing between 10 to 15 sets of a hundred reps each set. It completely replaced my jogging and elliptical workout and I've noticed better tone and definition in my legs and abs and my endurance has been increased to a new level and noticed my strength training goes easier with less lactic acid build up and better recovery. (Ill cover that in a little bit).

I'm keeping my strength training simple and to the point thanks to my friend who has gained great results from focusing on one muscle group a day for six days a week.

Supplements I am taking is a "natural" OTC testosterone booster called Hexaghen IGF-1 which helps recover muscle groups, repairs fibers, adds growth on the cellular level and keeps it there even if you stop taking the hexaghen and you keep working out.

My friend also turned me to this Pre-workout drink called C4 by Cellucor which helps give you a better boost through your cardio and strength exercises, decreases lactic acid build up so you have better endurance and less struggle for more sets and reps and you don't have that crash post workout that you have with other supplements. The biggest plus for me is it only contains five calories and one gram of carbs for those trying to cut weight and get more tone.

So this is my little write up. Share your workouts, supplements(legal), and stories.

We can always learn from each other and give people some motivation to change their lives for the better.

I've had a groin pull for the past month, cannot do ANYTHING except work on upper body. So pretty much just doing bench/pull down bar and other machines. When i'm healthy I usually run a mile every day(Unless I have basketball stuff), and alternate between arms/legs and core in weight room.

As for diet I usually just drink lots of water, eat fruits and veggies, lot of meat etc.

I've just rediscovered the joys of cycling after about 10 years of doing nothing aside from PE and am trying to do new things. But maaan, it's hard to change after that long time of doing nothing :( .

I'm 6 3 with a natural very slim structure. I have to get slim fit shirts just to not have something look baggy. 2 years ago I started running twice a week, and I lift weights about 3 times a week. I use the pull-up bars at the park everytime I go to the convenience store for a snack, as a promise to myself. I really haven't been able to change my torso much at all, but my arms, back, and legs are definitely bigger and more defined. I avoid eating in restaurants or fast food, I try to cook everything at home with fresh ingredients. But, I am a soda junkie. And when there is MK/Injustice, there will be CHIPS.

Edit: I also do a full workout the morning before a tournament. I don't know why. I just assume it must help my nerves, because I have bad panic disorder.

I used to lift a little bit in high school when I ran track but I sucked cuz I'm small and for some reason I can't gain any fat/muscle.

I started back working out this week on p90x for first time in 6-7 months

I TRIED starting back once before but then i broke my ankle, then had to have 2 surgeries for nose so this week i finally started back so this thread is pretty timely

Interesting fact: When i was working out I was performing well in tourneys, the week i stopped (Nov-dec) my play went to absolute shit and i started choking in every local, major, etc i entered even casuals.

As of this past week i started continuously listening to my music i was listening to last year to train for MLGs and EVOs and started the same work out plan back. Im extremely superstitious so I blame my lack of physicality in the past 7 months for my stock being down.

GET PUMPED

edit: oh and the work out plan I did for 2-3 years is p90x.com

Im back on it this week and documenting weekly results

Amen brother. And I'm from Philly, so for me it's actually "And when the world is rotating on its axis, there will be CHIPS" :D
In mexico, we have these chips called Paketaxo. And they have a flavor called "Quexo". Like "queso". It's a giant bag of cheese puffs, I think Nacho doritos, cheese Bugle looking things, and cheese popcorn. You have not known happiness until you've had it. I'm very happy.

I was actually thinking about making a thread similar to this in the past but never got around to it ( was going to go more for advice to guys who want to get started )

So just some background first

-Physically active kid ( one way or another ) from a young age, while also being just as active with gaming
-Serious Physical Training since 15 ( 23 yr old now, 24 in a month) so about 8 years of intense training.
-Certified personal trainer, under the NASM, and yes training is my full time job. 4 years experience as PT
- Etcomorph type build ( naturally SUPER skinny dude) so strength has been an up hill battle.
- Trained Brazilian Jujitsu for 2 years and MMA training for 3 years respectively
-Been focusing primarily on Physique/strength for the past year.

Supplements.
-I swear by Gold standard ON Whey, have been using the stuff for years, its quality is great and reliable.
- Russian Bear-Weight gainer- Cleanest and most natural high carb weight gainer out there, quality stuff
- MP preworkout- Assault- Excellent preworkout, although I do cycle this as to not hurt my central nervous system.

TL:DR--- Been Training for several years, Professional trainer for 4 years. Basic supps

Will go into more detail as to my training, and or share progress pics if anyone is curious

ALSO would be completely willing to help any of you guys with any advice you may be seeking, feel free to ask.

Been lifting for about 12 years since i was a junior in HS actually got into bodybuilding in my early 20s to the point i was eating 300 grams of protein a day and around 3500 calories. My claim to fame is working out with jay cutler (former mr olymppia) for a week straight when he was in tampa for an appearance a few years back.

I have it but havent done it yet at all. My current plan honestly is this

P90x first month then p90x + months 2 and 3. Then insanity after month 3 of p90x + after a week break

after 7 month of nothing-ness i need to wake my body up big time

this week from head to toe my body feels like a car wreck so far

I subbed to a gym about 2 - 3 months ago to get motivated and start lifting again after 1 year and gaining 40-50 pounds.. never went to gym instead I got motivated to work out at home regularly, usually when watching marvel stream.

edit: and I follow lifting practices of scott herman and victor costa

Been working out for the last 4-5 years or so. Started out doing a lot of cardio and minimal to none weight lifting because I was overweight and wanted to lose weight, after I got exrtemely skinny I was even more depressed with how I looked and decided to adopt a more balanced diet and workout regimen, so I took on bodybuilding. For the last two years I've been training very intensely 5-6 days a week (1 body part each day). I was encouraged by some friends to participate in some natural bodybuilding contests next year but I refused because I despise the "sport"

I am a pretty big guy (6'6 240 lbs) so it's pretty hard for me to put on muscle mass but my lifts have increased dramatically

The supplements I use vary from time to time. I am using protein powder all year round and creatine every other month, I also take multivitamins and fish oils. When I'm bulking I may also take carbs like dextrose and some other supplements like Animal Rage and Animal Pump

I also studied taekwondo when I was younger but gave it up because I didn't like it that much. I am very interested in MMA though and I may start some classes next summer

Good choice. P90x will help your core a lot, so it's good to build that up. Insanity will help with your endurance.

All this talk about exercise reminds me of how much I miss it. Fuck you groin pull.

I am starting DDP yoga this week. I am only aiming for about 10 lbs of weight loss and the rest just toning. I also got shoulder pain and lower back pain from a car accident about 6 years ago. I am kind of excited actually.

I've gained at least 15 kilos since I fucked up with whey protein 8 months ago and just binged non stop since then. I need to get back on track after my summer session is done. ATM I'm getting no sleep and most of my day goes to classes. Can't wait for this shit to be over. I'm a person that either goes balls deep in training or none at all. I went from 104kg at 14 years old to 72 by 16 and was close to a six-pack, went downhill after that.

Yeah that sounds a lot like me, you either get in the habit or you just fall off of it right?
