Totally disagree with you. Takeda is upper-mid tier and Scorpion is top 3.Takeda will continue to climb towards top 10 as scorpion continues to fall out of top 10. Picking up scorpion will not help you with the problems your having as takeda right now. Will add more later when I have time
Inferno Scorpion is for people who can't do FBC. Just saying.Inferno Scorpion is godlike everywhere...get at me scrubs!
Or maybe because they actually like the demons. I can fireball cancel just fine. But Inferno reminds me of a cross between Scorpion and Noob Saibot. So That is who I use.Inferno Scorpion is for people who can't do FBC. Just saying.

Yeah when I was comparing armor, someone stated that scorpion didn't have a wake up ex launcher and that takeda did but I guess that's was corrected or the ex tele port only has armor on wake up.. something like that ..OP said scorp doesn't have a wakeup launcher.
This made me laugh...then cry...then sort of salty...the now it makes me wanna get back into the lab. LolWhy would anyone switch over to a weaker character?
Just a comparison of the shirai ryu styles.Great write up, but if you're comparing a top tier character to anyone but another top tier they're going to look better no matter what lol
Scorpion and Tekeda also play totally different. it's not like Scorpion is Tekeda 2.0, so only switch if you want to play someone who isn't a keep away footsies character. if you love Takeda, then play him and body people.
Hellfire is one of the few characters in this game with an execution barrier, but tbh, coming from other games it's really not that hard. A couple of days practice and you will be consistent as hell(fire).Scorpion is very high execution, but once you put the time in - your opponents need something special to make you play defense. There are two ways to play Scorp. One, just play Infernal Scorp and get flawless in execution - and go all out to keep moving - or, two, try everyone out, learn the matchups, and stuff and punish between rushdowns with Hellfire.
Haha well to be more fair, does he really need 2 vortexes? I feel the way the characters are designed, Quan Chi deserves it more, since his normals/ wakeup game is pretty hopeless once he's in pressure.Hey to be fair Scorpion was always a vortex character. So if anyone should be a vortex character it's him, not Quan Chi lol
Meh, I think it's only heavy execution if you are comparing to Inferno. His 214 FBC is the easiest cancel imo.Hellfire is one of the few characters in this game with an execution barrier, but tbh, coming from other games it's really not that hard. I don't really get the two vortexes thing, whether it be ending in teleport/mid demon, or ending with Teleport/Flame Aura. It still just boils down to one mix up afterwards. And yes Scorpion does need it. Quan Chi was never a vortex character, that is something new to MKX. And his vortex is like 5 times better than Scorpion's imo. That's why he lacks a good wake up, at least outside of Summoner. Warlock has a decent one imo, haven't fought enough of mister Armor Quan Chi yet to know what his wake ups are.Haha well to be more fair, does he really need 2 vortexes? I haven't been completely serious with my last posts. Obviously in this meta, scorpion is pretty bad if he loses his second vortex. More or less, I think vortex's are just a poor concept in general and would prefer a meta w/out them. Personal preference anyway.I don't really get the two vortexes thing, whether it be ending in teleport/mid demon, or ending with Teleport/Flame Aura. Scorpion's jump 3 is 6 frames, Quan Chi's jump I think 1 is it, is also 6 frame start up, Quan also has that 4 frame njp, Both will lead into the vortex situation. Can't really see the difference between the two on that regards, besides Quan being better at zoning, and having a true 50/50 that leads into the vortex.I haven't been completely serious with my last posts. Yeah, Quan's is much harder to get out of, but it's also much harder for him to get it started. Scorpion's j3 beats pretty much everything (anti airs included) and leads to full vortex. I don't know why, but Quan is probably the only character with a vortex that I enjoy playing the MU against. Everyone else, I roll my eyes and just say, "wish he wasn't in the game, but I guess I need to get better at the MU"
Well a tip for you on that JI3 from Scorpion. If you are having trouble anti-airing it, you have a couple of other options. If you block the jump in attack, attack immediately afterward, as it's negative, and doesn't have the cancel into a string immediately property that jip's do. The second is to walk backwards and make it whiff, then get a full combo punish. Also a lot of NJP's will stuff Scorpion's J3 due to it being angled downward. Hopefully this might help you some in the match up@BloodyNights
Yeah, but the hitbox on that ji3 is ridiculous, regardless of startup. It consistently beats d2's, standing 1's, etc. Even if I make the perfect read, I get blown up a large percentage of the time and my character has some of the better anti air attacks in the game.
Quan's ji1 has never been a problem and if you rush in and get blown up by his nj1, you kinda deserve it.
I actually lose often to Quan Chi and ironically usually body scorpion players pretty hard. Regardless, I'd rather fight Quan any day of the week. Imo, scorpian is boring to play and play against, no hate towards you (he's obviously your main). I think most of the fighting game fundamentals are pretty irrelevant in the MU as well. There are a few characters who I wish weren't in the game (or were completely different in terms of playstyle) and scorpion, as iconic as he is, is towards the top of that list.
Anyway, getting quite off topic. Again, no salt towards you. If you like playing a character that's you prerogative and I can only keep getting better at the MU.
Thanks for the tips. I wasn't aware it was - on blockWell a tip for you on that JI3 from Scorpion. If you are having trouble anti-airing it, you have a couple of other options. I agree though, I hate vortex's but...I got over it very quickly when I realized almost everyone had a 50/50 in MKX, why feel like a cheap bastard when everyone is doing it. lol But I just felt like refuting what you said because as stated before Scorpion has always been a vortex character, and for that matter he is almost always low to mid tier. So I'm actually pretty happy for him in this game.
no man feel completely free do go into any tech conversations. any new info, insight, tips, or strategies will def be the best outcome of this thread@BloodyNights

Yeah I thought most JI 3's were plus. I'll have to check the data and test in practive mode.I think he's actually + after a blocked j3. Either way I'm pretty sure he has to commit to the teleport to get a combo so if you just block you can punish it.
