Yeah it doesn't advance forward but it does grant a juggle and AA's really well. It's crazy good for punishes at 6 frames. She can punish a lot of stuff that most characters cant. It would totally suck if I couldn't use my f2 OH option on reptile either.

I checked lao's frames and it does show at 7.

Honestly like I said on my first post. Just tweak his forceballs recovery time just a bit so they don't feel so stiff and awkward to use and I'd be happy even without a numbers boost.

Forceballs used to be one of the best parts of his play style across every game he's had them but in their current state they don't feel like they even make sense to use in most situations where they in theory should work.

I don't play fighting games to compete anymore man.... I haven't for a LOOONG time. I play to have fun and build my local scene. I do however play against a high level Kang, Scorpion, Kenshi, KJ and Johnny Cage on a weekly bias. I've always been a character loyalist so tier whoring has and is never an option for me, I am holding high hopes for Predator though.

Its pretty safe to say that when Chris G and Sabin both drop their favorite Mk characters (characters they used throughout all of Mk9) at launch, I'm not the only one who sees the problem here.

I hear you. However, if you're going to be critical of others for speaking about characters they don't understand can you really call him the worst? It's not like you understand the other characters who are thought of as weak now yourself. You know Goro's match ups?

The only buff he needs is to actually have 3 variations, not 2 useless ones. I hate the comparisons made to MK9 Reptile, it is completely pointless and shows that the wrong approach is being taken to the character.

Rapzilla, your requests are outrageous and you know they are. This is just an attempt to get attention on reptile and hope to get change. We were suppose to be different then the whole 'complain to get get change' example: Tom brady rant / Pig of the hut rant etc...

If u honestly call all those so-called buffs, "NEEDS," then its fact that you dont want to work for ANYTHING, and just want to be able to do everything for FREE.

Can you explain why any of the needs would make anything free?

What I do find curious though is seeing you and ppj trying to poo poo this thread yet you just helped your boys character who had a lot less flaws than mine sky rocket into the top 5 along with buffs for your beloved Kitana.

Most of the needed buffs I mentioned Reptile had in testing like the 6 frame dash, safe oh klaw and better recovery on EX balls so why were they taken away? Do you guys just hate chris g that much or can you explain why it was considered too powerful it had to be changed?

Except Reptile players, because I really think he may be as lackluster as the OP would have you believe.
I stand by my beliefs that the gap between lowest and highest tier in this game is and in the future will be further proven to be nowhere near as vast as MK9, and maybe even slightly thinner than IGAU was given today's upgrades. But of all the characters left with any cause left to bitch (and the list is getting smaller every patch thus far), Reptile would definitely have the most valid claim. Jason could be argued, but IMO is still too unexplored and underrepresented to be placed above him, and the game itself is still too unexplored to make any more drastic claims, but if it was reasonable enough to fix Kenshi, the same could certainly be said for Syzoth.

You guys don't understand what it means to have a 6 frame special in this game. Asking for this is ridiculous. A lot of things that are -6/-7 in this game are kinda supposed to be safe.

Reptile is a very fun character but when compared to the rest of the cast he is very limited.

Why on earth can you slide under forceballs?
Why is the most overhead looking move in the game (db2) not an overhead? Reminds me of Nightwolfs Not a low toe kick in mk9. Having an armored overhead would help him out a lot in close to other, faster characters.
The recovery on forceballs is absurd.
exforceballs should come out WAY faster than they currently do to try and get something on the screen against characters with better projectiles.
I'd like a damage buff but I don't find it at all to be his biggest problem.

I LOOOOVE reptile but even I am not maining him in MKX because he struggles in a lot of ways.

Reptile is pretty bad to be honest. I said this week one but got a lot of backlash.

The more I messed with the other characters, the less I used Reptile. I still love Reptile as he's my favorite character and suit me really well, but I'm not gonna deny he's pretty lackluster. Also he probably has the weakest Variations in the game. (Which I also thought when they should him during his character breakdown, only one that excited me was Nimble but they made sure not to make it OP like Flashes) Most other characters in the game have way dirtier stuff than him, unfortunately.

In any event, I don't even know what to think about Reptile anymore. There are equally good and bad arguments on both sides...

i only use reptile and it is a ton of work for little reward. all his specials are unsafe, ex dash still gets no armor, the overhead and forceballs have 100000 frames of recovery. his damage is mediocre but has decent mixup options. ehh

When I read this thread, I was beginning to think it was a joke thread due to how ludicrous some of the buffs were. Still not sure if this is a joke or is serious but I think Reptile is pretty good still. His zoning is far from being the worst in the game but it does have a bit of a learning curve to utilize correctly...I'm a Reptile main and he is pretty much the only character I've put time into so far.

Just because other characters have gotten buffs doesn't mean us Reptile players need to hop on the bandwagon too...

I'm almost sure you don't think he's bad cause he's the ONLY character you put time into. I thought he was good until I played more characters. Almost every. single. character. I tried has been better than Reptile. Johnny Cage, Scorpion, Quan Chi, Erron Black, Kung Jin, Sub Zero.... all better.

What would be the drawback of anything u asked for? You want his klaw to be overhead..AND safe. Is that not a free special he can do at the end of his strings? Wouldnt it be honest to ask for it to be an overhead..while keeping the punish frames on it he has as of right now?

What u have to understand is that he was designed to be mid tier...and if played flawlessly AND at his best, he can considered top 10. However as of right now, no i would not consider him top 10. If there were just a few SLIGHT changes to him he MIGHT be considered 'A top tier character played at best.'

Your a reptile main, you would understand that they are not gonna make him top tier and/or equally on parr with the rest of the cast. We've been fighting uphill battles since mk9.

What your asking for, is to make him TOP /OP Broken. Thats too much. The small changes we need are just to the acid balls, and make it so it cant be low profiled. I agree with the variation requests, but reality is...those changes arent going to happen.

The buff i feel is most needed is a shorter recovery for the forceballs. Anyone who has a teleport makes that move completly useless, and their a big part of his game. Mileena is his worst MU imo because she can either tele or ball roll to dodge them.

They design him to be mid tier. Im 100% fine with that... But its ALWAYS at the level to where he CANT compete. But i believe demanding for changes to make him TOP, will NOT happen. We (as in reptile players) all know this. So the best that we do is to just ask for the changes that makes him able to COMPETE. Thats all.

Anyone else who doesnt play the character wont understand the frustration we have from game -to- game. Wouldnt bother to waste time to try explain the differences to em.

Rather than claw slash be an overhead, I'd like for his claw pounce to be -10. It's slow enough to be blocked, and it's so unsafe that it's never worth it to use it outside of combo enders. Being made -10 would allow it to become a semi-safe footsie tool.
