MKX Recommended PC Specs are Pretty High

Lol i was talking about ppl mentioning consoles in every thread.

I repeat, these SR would be ok for Shadow of Mordor or for Far Cry 4 (They actually are similar to these, shocking i know) but for MKX??? 2.5D UE3 fighting game??? LMFAO please just stop!
Why are you so mad about the specs? Calm damn...

The difference between minimum and recommended is so big that a lot of people with old hardware will still be able to play it.
The only thing that seems a bit crazy is the CPU for recommended. Other than that the specs seem fine.
With these specs I'm hoping that they added some extra stuff for PC. Like higher quality models/textures, ...

Cpu requirements seems a bit high. I will play for sure on console for the single reason of online and consistency. PC have different frametime even at locked framerate (ie 60 preferably but you never know for your opponent), this is two different things (input register can vary from 0ms to 16ms). So it's always gonna be a problem for fighting game, even in local. Console versions have always the same frame time, that's very important, the hardware is the same for every one.
No actually PC have more constant FPS than consoles.
Also x-rays and fatalities are 720p/30fps on PS4/XONE.

you have no idea what youre talking about m8.. have you ever played the pc version on a non potato computer? it runs wayyy faster than th consoles because its straight up 60 fps nothing changes UNLIKE the consoles. Ps3 lags Offline with some moves and such.

And you have no idea about the difference between framerate and frametime, but i was expecting this.. If i have time i ll make a bench on MK9 PC.

The minimum specs ain't shit, tbh. Only reason I won't be getting MKX on Steam is because I'm getting it on PS4 and my laptop sucks donkey disk. Ugh, why did I go with Intel...?

Eventually, I plan on building a PC, though.

Since game is locked at 60 fps, you will get constant 16 ms or lower frametime all the time on PC (FCAT actually confirms that). While on PS3 frametime sometimes jumps way above 16 ms which gives lower frame rate. So in short he's quite correct even if he don't have idea about frametime.

I kinda don't believe the i7 is needed simply because whenever I view pc gaming related threads people always say anything above an i5 is overkill for gaming. However the 8GB ram and gpu specs seem fine. 8GB is like $60 dollars in USD today. The r9 280 which I believe is the re-badge of the 7950 is on sale about every other week when I look on amazon for around $170-180.

Is it? I was konsidering buying it but I am going to build a small form factor PC and was worried about the heat it may produce.

Wondering if it may be worth it to buy that over the Nvidia gtx 960 ti (which I hope releases soon, but not sure)...

Hmm yeah I plan on getting for PC the specs dont seem too crazy... GPU recommendation is lower than I thought but CPU is much higher than i thought might need a new cpu! Oh well worth it considering I dont have to start an XBL subscription or PSN ;) . Too each their own though!

The bold part is the problem, it works both ways, you get sometimes up to 1 frame advantage on input depending on how capable your hardware is (for ex different stage), online it is negated by ping and different kind of server lag but still there. The issue is not to have a low frametime (wich is good), it is to have different frametime on different hardware (no two pc have exactly the same performance). On console you may have a low frametime in some specific context but everybody is gonna get exactly the same frametime curve.
