darkness of the game would suit him, the fact theres some sort of war against/in outworld im sure he could be used in story more than he has before.

be a real shame if he doesnt get it, love to see what paulo & co would do with his 3 variations

Meh, I think he could sit this one out. Roster slots are running low and with NRS saying how many new characters are coming, I strongly doubt he's gonna make it. We have two slots that will likely be filled by Mileena, Liu Kang and then there's Smoke (way more popular than Baraka IMO) and Shinnok (important to the story). Maybe Baraka will make a story cameo appearance or be DLC.

I would love a new Tartakan.
One that is different then the rest.

Like a super smart scheming spellcaster type.

Or just make that one with the Shotgun playable.
Combine Baraka and Stryker into one character.

I can understand the Baraka "hate" but honestly he's been one of my favorite characters in the whole series.

Loved him in MK2.
Loved him in MKD.
Sorta loved him in MKvsDC & MKA.
Loved him in MK9.

Trust and believe Baraka WILL be in the game and WILL be PLAYABLE.

To me, he is one of those iconic "secondary characters" (i.e. Reptile, Kenshi, Quan Chi, Noob, Rain, etc.) so he should be in the game.

I really hope however that NRS makes his variations badass enough to garner people to gravitate towards him.

Needs a sick design, sick combos/gameplay, and a show stopping X-ray & Fatality to make him A1.

I look forward to seeing what the team has done with him.

Hmmm...I hadn't even factored in the ease with which various outworlders could be made into more for the story by how their is a civil war in outworld. Makes a lot of folks feasible...the new tarkatan sound very plausible as well. It'd definitely allow for different design tools to be built into the character's physiology without having to risk permanently altering some staples about Baraka.

Hmm...not certain if this changes how I feel that the odds aren't for it, but it definitely makes me feel that he isn't much more than a stone's throw from the cast if he's cut from the drawing board already.

How would you even design different visual tools into a Tarakatan? Do they come in different forms than dudes with retractable swords? Like could they shoot bladed spines from their body or turn into metal like Colossus or something without having to write in magical reasons why? Has there been any tarkatans that could fire metal shards or only ones that could just use retractable blades? Could the blades be positioned elsewhere like running down their forearm and going back past their elbow like forearm/elbow blades sort of like Guyver?

Really curious here what Tarkatan history says on this or whether a "new tarkatan" would need additional backstory explanations if his physiology had noticeable physcial differences in natural abilities.

It seems a large portion of the story is going to be set in outworld. I don't see how they can't have him. Especially with all the hints and portal info.

Its possible but not very likely in my opinion. He is a cool ass character. He is sick AF but they don't make him good most of the time. You never know tho. The tarkatan still lives!!

If Milly makes it I think he will too! In MK9 when Khan dies for a minute, Baraka supports her right to rule Outworld as his heir.

In the comics Mileena is engaged in a civil war with Kotal Khan for the throne of outworld. Baraka probably has the same job he did while working for her dad(s).

I don't think he'll make it. He doesn't offer enough story potential and his interest amongst fans seems to have dropped off in recent years. In addition, it'll take a lot of stretching to get 3 variations out of him.

I think he'll be in as a story character (supporting Mileena's army) but I highly doubt he'll be in as a playable character.

NRS wants new characters and Baraka has never been incredibly popular in comparison. I'm having the same problem with Jade. These sidekick characters are less likely than somebody like Smoke.

Smoke is a sidekick too and shares the same archetype of character as Jade (in terms of plot)

I like Baraka but this time around it seems every character will have some type of relevant impact on the story. Baraka never really offered much rather then being SK's lap dog..Who knows they might put him in and expand his role a bit but I doubt it..

Doesnt anybody remember when the game was announced they had silhouettes for characters and they "somewhat hinted at characters" and one of them was Barack Obama? Yea , Baraka Obama people.

I wish they put in obama for training mode only so you can perform all kind of combos on him

Considering he's one of my mains in MK9, I would HOPE to see him, along with Sektor and Smoke.

As for his actual chances, well, I would've said he is as likely as Reptile and... he got in, soooooo?
I actually think they could expand upon his "jobber" role and make him the war general for Mileena's armies, and maybe have him turn over to Kotal halfway into the story, that way blue boy can overthrow Mileena, becoming the new Kahn. (And Baraka stays alive and badass (yay!)) They could even have him kill Mileena for Kahn; Baraka, the Royal Assassin.

If he doesn't make it though, I'm sure he'll end up being DLC.
