It's not to describe a modder, it's a program that requires a modded console. You can't use it with a normal console.As long as they're not in the crucible modding, I don't really care.
Also, I've never heard of the term "trainer" used to describe a modder. The only time I've heard "trainer" is with "Pokemon" before it.
It's like a trainer for Borderlands and other various games. You press a certain key (in this case, enter a number or series of numbers) and they enable whatever effect(s) are associated to that number. I don't know where the term "trainer" came from in regards to the program, however.
