I am playing XCOM: Enemy Unknown. The Game of the Year winning Firaxis developed TBS game. They say for the definitive XCOM experience, name your units after family
members to completely change how to play each and every move. I don't have the heart to do so, so I've done the next best thing.
UPDATE#1:
@Doombawkz is a heavily armored badass and my most veteran unit. After being out of duty after heavy damage received, he has yet to go to the infirmary
@AK Stormthegates is my resident shock trooper, but actually got panicked during an alien encounter and shot one of our friendly units. Gave me a heart attack when an alien species I've never seen before came up to him in close range and almost made him bleed out.
@Qwark28 Just promoted him to sergeant. He requested to be a guy character, and so I made him a girl. INCREDIBLY accurate. Gonna make him a sniper. Speaking of sniper
@Shaolin 19 JESUS CHRIST THIS GUY IS A TERROR! @Youphemism , my only medic for a while was put in critical condition by a panicked Stormthegates. Both units were going to bleed out. SHAOLIN SINGLE HANDEDLY ELIMINATED ALL ENEMIES 1 TURN BEFORE OUR TWO SQUAD MATES WERE GOING TO DIE! Has overtaken Doombawks in terms of raw power, though Doombawks' rocket launchers are OP
@RiBBz22 and @Indecisive both undertook their first strike missions and performed WAY better than rookies tend to. I now have a second Medic in Ribbz. Indy, you said you wanted to be a medic as well? Your combat reports say you'd be an excellent sniper. Your call.
@Dr Morganstien , @LtLuthor and @AeroGrunt have yet to see combat.
We might pass by Florida. @Lilith @Eldriken don't worry I'll keep your home city safe.
@Yoaksssss was a gift from the council. He came pretty high ranked with good gear. Has yet to see combat duty.
@TopTierHarley has been in critical condition going on a week. Harley and Youphemism almost died and so it's gonna take some time before they see battle again ;_;
Had to make the INCREDIBLY heartbreaking decision to ignore innocent civilians being abducted in Egypt in favor of the UK. Egypt was vulnerable and defenseless since I have no satellites in that country. But I NEEDED the funding from the UK. I NEED more scientists. Too many close calls, we need to start developing alien weapons.
Two days and this game has stopped my heart more than 7 times. I see what all the fuss was about.
