More importantly it looks like it had armor....which is awsome
It doesn't have armor. I saw it getting interrupted in on of the videos.

Bleh.

I find it fun. if you dont like it dont play it.
Yo Sgt Reed is a die hard MK fan. Also a member of the Sub-Zero mains council. He has been on this site a long time. You can be damn sure he'll play the hell out of the game and Subby even if didn't like it. Take it easy when talking to him, eh?

I kind of have an idea why it might be a double-edged sword, but I wanna know what makes you think that?
Because on one hand you can use it to protect yourself from certain projectiles and win zoning battles, on the other hand the opponent can use a projectile to break through your clone defence/pressure.

Oh ok.Well at least you won't take any type of damage and you'll be able pop another Ice Clone out to make their life a living hell to get in.

Na I dont care who he is. I have been playing mk since mk2... That doesnt make me better than anyone else.

He dismissed my liking of J1/2/3 in juggles so I did the same to him.

I personally love doing batmans j2/j2 combos!

Im afraid being able to use naked jumpkicks/jumppunches mid combo is what will make the combos less entertaining, that is the same problem they have in injustice. I know it is not that important, but I much prefer the older type of combos.

If I am not mistaken in MK9 they would also scale the combo horrendously.

Play Monster Hunter!
Combos were less visually interesting in Injustice because of lack of interesting specials.
Specifically stuff like teleports, character displacement moves, capture states, just neat combo filler.

Not because of lack of dash cancel combos, which were just silly looking most of the time.

Though all Injustice combos look samey had more to do with the universal wall bounce mechanics then using jump normals as filler.

At least IMO.

Hopefully I won't have to... hoping the run mechanic will allow me to combo while grounded.
That would probably work, the question is, will those combos be optimal...

In MK9 clone had considerable cooldown, especially if it was broken by your opponent. Here we've already seen how slow projectiles can negate clone. Somehow I think GM Subs won't be an answer to everything.

Subs clone had no cooldown.... the only time it had "cooldown" was if it wiffed and then its "cooldown" was the duration of a clone.
Cooldown that equals to normal duration is still a cooldown as it clearly wasn't just a check if previous clone is still on the screen :p
Besides, I'm pretty sure Tom Brady once told that said CD is very slightly, but still longer than duration, even though it wasn't affecting the game that much.

Also something tells me that if clone breaks due to Sub taking damage, he couldn't instantly re-create it, although I'm not sure.

Jumppunches scale a lot in mk9, neutral jumppunches did add good damage though, they might have done this to tone down high damage unattended air to air. jumpkicks could not be combo'd in Mk9 unless it wsa in the corner or if you had a special to cancel the kick into like kung lao or kitana.

lol you quoted me first... so you dismissed my dislike of it... I was just explaining why I didn't care for it.

Anyway, it doesn't really matter. We'll see what happens when the game is released. Unfortunately, that's still too far away. :(

Looks like Sub-Zero's X-Ray can indeed attack without parrying your opponent. It looks like the parry is just a bonus feature of the X-Ray.
I saw people mentioning this before but I just saw it now in a video.

Skip to 5:17, you'll see Scorpion getting hit without being parried.

I've watched the videos in detail again and sub looks reeeally fast this time. recovery on his normals is almost non-existant (at least on hit and whiff, as nobody blocks in the e3 Videos). Looks like they really wanna make him good this time.

he's got what looks to be an 8-10 frame advancing mid that's part of a 2 hit string that can combo into ice ball. It's like a step forward kick with the rear leg into what looks like a tummy tickle with both hands (lol)

Input is probably going to be f42. Confirm into ice ball / ice clone would be really good.
