Your Favorite Community Experiences and Memories

In light of the holiday weekend, I'd like to take some time out and talk about some of the things that make communities great. So I'm posing this question to all of you: what are your best memories from the community so far? It could be someone who helped you out, a tournament you saw or attended, something that brought you into the community or some unforgettable late-night hotel shenanigans, or something silly from a long car ride.

It can be something touching, funny, a personal victory, or something inspirational.

Since lurking the community circa 2011 and joining full-on in 2012, I've shared a ton of laughs, heartfelt and hype moments with a lot of people I've gotten to know. You guys are what make this place feel like home for me.

So what are your best community experiences so far? The things you'll talk about years from now and never forget?

:D

At Winter Brawl (my first major) I was still finding myself with Zod and I was pretty trash (not that I'm great now or anything). @DarthArma bopped the shit out of me in casuals but kept playing me until tourney matches started. I couldn't fathom why; there was nothing I was giving of value as a player...I was literally j1'ing over and over trying to do IAZBs lol.

But not only did he encourage me to keep playing and leveling up, he gave me his number and told me to come play with them that night. He wanted to build the community and told me no one is too small, everyone is welcome. Dude is super-nice and made me feel included even though I'm an unknown and extremely mediocre. That night I partied until 6am playing casuals with big-name players, and it was awesome.

I'm breaking into Street Fighter now and while I'm doing ok, I'm definitely wishing there were more people like Arma in the Capcom community.

Dude where the hell was you, even?
I was by the Injustice setups the entire time. I was wearing the blue Florida Doomsdays shirt.

The only time I wasn't by them was when I was playing on stream.

The first tournament i went to was the Break. Those of you may not remember that but i do. The first match i played was Against was KDZ. Thats right. Little old me new to the tournament scene. And i got Fucked. Like Badly. And then i slowly started coming back and staying later and later getting better introduced to the players. This is when i met people like Fran and Arma who were both very chill with me and even KDZ would have conversation with me after i starting talking to him more. I will never forgot that all of this happened because i kept going back. Thank you to all of the People at the Break. I would be nothing without you.

I've only really been a part of the community online unfortunately, but I'd say one of my favourite things has been finding/posting tech and seeing top players use it. It's cool since I just post cool tech to show/help everyone in the community but knowing that it's viable enough to be used in tournament is so cool to see!

Staying up til 5am every night either on TYM or stream monstering is fun too, all the hype in the stream chats when something awesome happens is just incredible to be a part of sometimes. There's been a lot of hype moments I've seen, too many to even begin to remember...but I'll make it to America some day and then all the offline fun can begin ;)

Lol I dont even remember bro. How well did you end up doing
Went 4-2. I had to play Noobe to get into Top 16 and he beat me. I'm proud of myself for making it that far. My goal was to not go 0-2 and if I made that goal, to get into Top 16. I almost accomplished both.

I am completely content with how I did. Especially since my first match was on stream and going against Floe, who I proceeded to destroy.

Honestly I think the fact that my girlfriend completely supported and stuck out CEO even though she was bored and helped me prep for what was to come while I was in casuals is something I would greatly remember as well as appreciate. Also feeling a warm welcome when I decided to sign up was greatly appreciated as well. Thanks @CrimsonShadow and @TelekineticBeing for helping me sign up

I went 2-2, lost to Wriggle's Lantern cuz I have zero MU experience vs GL...then proceeded to rofl stomp a Shazam and Lobo...then megabytes came along and I played that mu like Helen Keller... lost Loser's semis.

It was a hell of a time tho! Woulda been cool to hang with ya but too late for that haha next year maybe Ill meet ya in Top 16 ;)

Attending Civil War this past April, my first tournament experience. After I won my first match I met @EMPEROR_JUPITER who happened to be watching the whole time & he gave me props on my MMH which was pretty awesome. Later on he invited me to his hotel room where he bopped me in a MMH mirror(the dumbest mirror match ever lol) and I got to meet/play casuals/chill with his brother @LanceMonsoon @Mikemetroid @7L and @Sabin
