Only the first gen Hit Boxes were banned from tournaments. So please quiet that banned noise down... It's aggravating.

I've been pad warrior ever since i started playing fighters. bought hori $300 stick and wind up not using it since i just couldn't stand the experience. I'm little cautious of getting hitbox since i don't want to make that same mistake. I kind of waned to imitate the experience of hit box. Is it possible to emulate hitbox on keyboard?

Yes but you honestly can't compare a keyboard to a Hit Box. Hit Boxes are so much better. Bigger buttons, bigger and more neat moving space, less missed inputs, less crushed inputs. I honestly wouldn't even rely on a keyboard to prepare me for a Hit Box. It's different if you're coming from a keyboard but since you aren't, I wouldn't recommend it.

And on a stick, if you are okay with the attacks and got used to them but just didn't like or get used to the stick, the Hit Box is for you. If you didn't like either the stick nor the attack buttons, well, either you'll have to learn or not waste your time and money.

Yeah you can play on keyboard, I know of two people that have keyboards that work on ps3/360. Just get a good keyboard, don't get some 5 dollar dell garbage. Get like a steelseries keyboard or something if you're going that route

This. Love the buttons, stick feels clunky. Will be my next purchase when I have enough money

I used to play ae on keyboard just fine, no issues with button size. You'll get used to whatever you buy lol its not a big deal at all.

ya....w1nter warz won toryuken with a keyboard so.....lol. But after trying stick, I really liked the speed of execution with the buttons (went too fast actually, starting getting stance changes instead of a string). Dem piano playing fingers I suppose. I'll prob get myself a hitbox later this summer for my bday

I suggest you do. Lol, you didn't just order it?

This is my experience with them, so obviously it could be a different story for you.

I ordered it and it looked exactly how it looks now on their site. Saying it's a Pre-order and that it'd be at least a month.

The estimate was 2+ Weeks for me. But I ended up getting it within a week. 4 days to be exact.

I'm not saying you'll get your Hitbox in less than a week, like I did. For a sure fact though, the Hitbox guys ship your Hitbox out as soon as they finish building it.

Of course, the popularity of the Hitboxes have grown. So who knows how it is now for them.

Like I said before, from you saying that you will be playing on Xbox almost as much as PS3. You will want/need the Dual-Modded one. No doubt.
I've been in touch with the hitbox guys myself and they said probably early to mid June. That's not 4 days :( it's not only that it's made to order, it's that they are getting bottlenecked cause the people they get their parts from keep going out of stock or just suck or something.

It's hard to be patient enough to wait three weeks when I've been spending most of my free time playing IGAU

Shiiiiiit, If I want my hitbox by August I'd better order soon then...
lol if you want it by august i think youve got plenty of time man.

I think its probably a safe bet it'd take no more than 3 weeks. This is not an official answer at all though, i'm just completely guessing.

I am just extremely impatient - I'm off to college in the fall and will just play this game very casually. But for the summer, its gonna be my hobby and a huge time sink - so I kind of want my hitbox ASAP.

also, I'm currently on a pad and so all the grinding and practice of inputs is still obviously useful, but im sure anyone can understand how, if one plans on getting a hitbox, the practice on a pad feels pretty useless / wasteful

good thread, good info.

i myself am a keyboard player, i started playing fighters on emulators in highschool. Never lived in an area with the pleasure of having an arcade.

stole my first 2 cabinents out of a storage warehouse. they were MK1 and MK2 cabs. Thus I only like bat sticks and cant stand lollipops.

but 2 years ago when I was living in colorado I found a guy that said he could mod me up a keyboard to work. he did exactly would dreemernj was talking about. using copper tape under the rubber and making pathways to the paewang. it is very unreliable. within 9 months i was having problems with buttons going out.

sad thing is .... its hard finding keyboards that use micro switches. along with that, its hard to find a modder that will consider trying to make it work. .... sucks for us keyboard players..

so if I dont find a modder sometime soon, I may just buy a hitbox, put it in a different case to give me the awsd directional layout, and gorilla glue keyboard keys on top of the arcade buttons.

also does anyone know if there are arcade buttons that are smaller than the size on a hitbox?
and is there a type of button that is more clicky than seimitsu?
