What's new

Ranked Matches are useless compared to player matches, nay?

That's true I won't deny that, still I prefer to play ranked until someone invites me. I usually get a few invites either after a close game or just some randoms who want to play me because I'm on the leaderboard.

Response to blast btw.

What times are you available to play? Which region? Also does anyone know how to check trueskill rank here? I'm curious to see if that's why I get declined... I doubt it but yeah. Also please feel free to add me/ message me about scheduling sets.
This week I am available pretty much anytime. I'm in the Midwest, EST. To see your true skill go to your hero card

Ranked is good for mu exp.. You can find great/decent players in ranked and inv them to a 1v1 private match as well.. Ive found a lot of good players there that either i invited, or have inv'd me to a private set.. Fr is sent, and now that mu is available to me anytime.

Pm is full of rank hoes, and people that will play the 1 and done, or first to 5 bullshit.. It's rare I get a long good set, in pm. So tbh, i really don't even bother with pm.

Personally I like first to 5. I feel its the most fair out of all the matches... but I will go longer if I feel like Im getting something out of it, if I'm learning or having more fun than normal ey.

I've always preferred the player matches in NRS games. You choose your competition and you actually get to see who the better player is when you play sets. Winning one game against a great player means nothing, winning a set however, proves you are the better player...at least on that day. The most annoying thing about player matches, as I've seen mentioned here, are the damn cowards who decline winning records. It's frustrating when dudes with a lot of experience decline you all day. I will never get why people play fighting games to just beat up on the noobs and inflate their record to appear good and as if they have skill. What does it matter what your appearances are when you lack that which you so desperately try to portray?

Been playing on the PS4 lately, and I am 22-0 in ranked. Every win was against very underwhelming competition. No fun for me any way you slice it in ranked.

you can always tell those who do it. Have like a 3000-230 record and a trueskill in the 20s.

I just played you online lex Luthor II and you sent me a message saying "hate gl online when there's delay. Can't d12 his slides like offline. 75% swing each time. Online is terrible in this game". If your complaining about lag why even bother going online? I see your point about wanting to play online games with people but sending messages complaining about lag won't help you get anymore games

Ranked is useless to me. 1 and done. KOTH is also useless to me. You don't get any control over who you fights. End up fighting people with no idea what they are doing. Then, if somebody good does show up and beat you, you have to wait, and who knows if you will get another shot.

The problem with finding someone in the room to play is....I see 15-20 people in there on average for xbox 360. That is pathetically low. Hard to find a good match. I literally just came out of the room about 30 minutes ago, in the middle of the day, and there was 5 people online.

K, i'm done venting.

I don't have the patience to wait around for all the starting and stopping during ranked matches. Hell, I get mad if the other player isn't sitting there mashing rematch before the little explosion that goes off at the end of each round. Just the other day I was having a fine time playing this guy but he kept switching characters, I had to drop game and find someone else to 1 on 1 with.

[EDIT HERE] Also, gotta agree with everyone who's mentioned how irritating it is when people drop out as soon as you start beating them a couple of times in a row. Earlier tonight I lost 20 straight matches to a zoning Sinestro on my Lobo and could not have possible cared any less. Considering how most people online play rush down characters it was immensely helpful to fight a guy who was doing his best to make sure I didn't get any where near him. Towards the end I was at least getting managing to get in on him and start punish combos that I kept dropping cause I was so flustered from the zoning.

I also hate playing randoms in ranked,I can only get on about 2 hours a week and that's during the day when noone seems to be online,it can be very frustrating.

Haha at least you guys live somewhere where there are people playing. Here in New Zealand I sometimes have to search for 10 minutes to find a game just for it to be an American who dcs straight away. Trust me you guys have it good

Cool! I am kind of stuck due to college tests and stuff but maybe on the weekend. I play Shazam and that's really it but I would like to play people here! Please add me if you have time and maybe we can play on the weekend?

Why call someone out when they complain about lag when you are from NZ? I bet you were having unplayable lag, where unsafe moves become safe, inputs drop, and everything delayed. Braindead characters always prevail...its just the reality of things. Can not blame someone for being frustrated about not being able to compete because you live damn near at the bottom of the world...but make no mistake, I have love for NZ. Wish I were there. Would gladly sacrifice internet speeds.

Nah the Lex Luthor II guy always complains about lag when he loses and sends a message saying he would've won if it wasn't so laggy. But when he wins he says nothing lol. He did to hades the same thing he did to me awhile ago...

I've met many of my current friends from ranked matches. I'll get in a good ranked match against them and they'll send me an invite to play some more, usually resulting in adding each other and playing more frequently.

I stick to nothing but ranked unless I get an invite from a friend.

I just hate GL, because hes so easy to beat offline with WoWo, d12 mb tiarra... and everytime I tried that against you you blew me up because it never comes out on time as the window is small, so its a like 80% swing in life because of online. I really shouldnt even try the d12 thing online anymore, but I try to play online like I do offline, even if it fucks me. I refuse to play differently, since its just practice. Also not being able to Instantair punch online totally fucks you against slowGLs ranged attacks, I kept doing it too late, or doing the uppunch because Id already hit the ground.

Still, shes not as bad as AM with delay.

i TOTALLY meant to just randomly up air punch midscreen from way to far away, TOTALLY.

OG man i CONSTANTLY manhandle you, calm down. And I rarely lose, and if i do, it is often because of lag, shit like not being able to Instantairpunch, or d12 slides. Derp.
