The story in Soulcalibur just don't make sense to me. I couldn't understand the story.

Maybe it'd better if it went on a reboot. Starting off in the old centuries to the modern where descendants, reincarnations and old warriors now immortal live to fight for the soul swords.

There must be a way the characters to fit in with world history. Let's say Soul Edge & Soul Calibur's power has been spread throughout history. Soul Calibur took on Excalibur during Arthur Pendragon's time.

Later on, some megalomaniac in our time found the soul swords and used them as trophies... even host some kind of gladiatorial tournament to see who is worthy of the swords - edge, calibur or both. Or none of the competitors want the sword.
