Dragon Fangs is Doomsday and Hawkgirl's royal love child in terms of pokes, chip and plus frames, I love it for that reason .

Do you think goro is actually viable? i really wanna play him but not if its a waste of effort if im just going to struggle in the same mu's. I really like his armor though.

Yes, I do think he is viable. There are only a few outlying characters that aren't at that point yet and Goro is not one of them. I think he is an exceptional choice against several top tier/tournament viable characters including Cassie Cage, Jax, D'Vorah, Liu Kang and Kitana to name a few.

I used to co-main Cage so I have a bit of knowledge of them both and I would say Goro does better against Cassie, Sub-Zero, D'Vorah and Liu Kang for sure. Goro is basically a character that is safe on block pretty much always. The way you punish him is on whiff so it all comes down to spacing and not over extending yourself. Core skills you need when playing any character to be sure, but solid play and forcing the opponent to block and take your chip helps Goro out infinitely more than many characters because he's usually at most slightly minus at worst or plus.

Yes sir, I refuse to play any other variation besides for fun now. I've tested Dragon Fangs against Mournful Kitana and other match ups that had me worried about the reduced zoning presence and I've found myself doing just as good or better with Dragon Fangs, which sealed the deal for me.

I love being at that ideal range where you have a long ranged overhead/low option to threaten the opponent with and fang spin is just pure love.

So the mu's i struggle with using Cage are Sub, kitana, cassie, tanya, dvorah, and shinnok. So DF goro covers most of those match ups?

I didn't mention Tanya or Shinnok because he struggles a bit versus Tanya and Shinnok. Cage does great against Kitana so that's really more of learning the match up with Cage cause Goro does the same. D'vorah, Sub-zero and Cassie? Absolutely does. Kitana versus Cage/Goro is at worst interchangeable, but Cage played well should beat her fine on his own.

Im pretty sure everyone who plays goro knows this but just incase you don't i shall fill you in....lets say you hit someone with a 21,Meterburn db2, njp, b12up2, 21 if you finish the combo off with a command grab you get 40%. If you let them drop after 21 you can go right into a stomp for an otg . so the combo would then hurt 44%. bc if you drop them after the 21 in the combo is 34% and the stomp hurts 10%. Down side its not guaranteed. They can tech roll this otg setup. Also they could tech roll wake up and depending on what the wake up is can get out of a guess completely ( example reptile or sub wake up tech roll slide). But this game is all about guessing anyway and no one tech rolls bc they know that is risky as ferk so you will catch people with the otg on the regular. oh btw this is dragon fangs only. Obviously you could just play kuatan warrior and get guaranteed otg's but just something to add to your goro gameplay!

I hope Tigrar gets some love, this variation is very fun and I'm going to start using it a more again. I think it has quite a bit of utility as well for certain match ups honestly. The fireball inputs are annoying for sure, I'd also like an actual far fireball lol. My only thing now is that since I'm so used to having 2,1,2, better range/anti-air and gapless plus frames it's hard to go back to the other two for me, even if I'd love to, but I'm glad you're repping Tigrar still .

i just used kuatan warrior exclusively because everyone said that was 'best' but i gave dragon fangs a shot recently and he's a blast. I'm a sucker for the clanging metal sound effects :^)
