Question - Blood God Why did I die? Is Blood God Bugged?

Happened twice. Once in round one, the other in three? Correct?
What kombo were you in the middle of attempting when you fell down dead?
What arena/stages were you in, and were there any interactables used at any point?'
(IF, you can recall any of that....)

Try to remember that. And... perhaps most importantly "Don't forget video".
Repeat that back a few times to yourself before you play!. The future, maaaaaan!

I know the 2nd occurrence was on the new Pit stage, beyond that I dont remember the combo...some form of the vortex I'm sure, but not specifically the starter or anything.

Sounds like rollback.
On his screen, the difference might've made you drop and let him get a move or a combo in.

Not necessarily. Don't mistake circumstance for causation.

Only like your last 8 or 10 matches but you can save them. Though they become unwatchable after a patch/hotfix. You may need to change your settings to save them, they take up space so I think it's off by default

I'm all set up to save matches now. I'll be testing with a friend as soon as he's available to play online.
