Who should I main: Basic Character Game Plans

This is something that will improve overtime and rapidly if community interest and feedback facilitate such growth. The end goal being a quick sticky thread where somebody could get the general game plan of each character within a paragraph or less.

At the moment what I've done is copied the opening character tutorial description of each character. I will update this as feedback is granted and more time is put into the game. If you have more articulate phrasing please post how you see things below and it's very likely I will replace the in-game description with a more informed and accurate paraphrasing."

BARAKA: Baraka has a variety of mid-range attacks with surprisingly fast start-up that can mix-up the opponent or control the space in front of him during neutral play.

CASSIE CAGE: Cassie Cage is an effective fighter when she's in the neutral at mid to close range, thanks to her quick hand-to-hand attacks that are often safe on block. She also has several gunshot attacks that help her stay competitive at longer ranges.

CETRION: Cetrion has a variety of Unique Projectile Attacks that make her an effective zoner. Moves like "Natural Barrier" and "Hell;s Wrath" can make it difficult for opponents to kounter her zoning with their own projectile attacks.

D'VORAH: D'Vorah's ovipositors give her excellent reach when facing opponents in the neutral. She has several attacks that can lock down the opponent and apply pressure up-close.

ERRON BLACK: Erron Black aim's to dictate the pace of the match with a variety of unique space controlling attacks.

FROST: Frost has a variety of mid and long-range attacks that let her control space and keep out opponents. Equipping different abilities can significantly change her options in kombat.

GERAS: Geras is a brawler that uses a mix of mid-range strikes and grapples to keep his opponents in check. Geras can equip diferent abilities to drastically change his playstyle.

JACQUI BRIGGS: Jacqui's most effective if she can get close to her opponent, where she can apply offensive pressure or start damaging juggle kombos.

JADE: Jade is well equipped to limit her opponent's options. She has access to a variety of mid-range staff attacks, space controlling "Razor-Rangs" and projectile kountering special moves.

JAX Briggs: Jax is a devestating grappler and brawler if he can get in close to his opponent, especially if he can gain offensive momentum to buld his Arm Heat. He also has access to powerful long-range attacks like his "Thumper" and "Ground Pound".

JOHNNY CAGE: Johnny Cage is a well-rounded fighter that can apply pressure and start juggle combos if he can get in close. Many of Cage's best moves are high attacks, but he has ways to catch opponents that try to evade these attacks with a duck.

KABAL: Kabal's "Buzzsaws" and "Nomad Dash" make him a constant threat at long range, while his hook sword attacks let him control space and Punish mistakes in neutral play.

KANO: Kano has an arsenal of deadly knife and grapple attacks that make hi dangerous up close. He can use Special Movies like "Blade Toss" and "Black Dragon Ball" to stay competitive at mid and long range while he looks for an opportunity to close-in.

KITANA: Kitana's quick "Fan Toss" makes her dangerous at long range, but she can also perform damaging juggle kombos if her opponent gets close. Kitana has powerful airborne attacks that make it very risky for her opponent to jump.

KOLLECTOR: Kollector has an eclectic kollection of weapons and magical attacks. He has far-reaching attacks that are great for controlling space in the neutral, as well as fast attacks that are good for interrupting an opponent that's up-close.

KOTAL KAHN: Kotal Kahn's attacks are generally slower, but they have great range and devastating power. He has various special moves that provide unique benifits, like his healing "Tonatiuh Beam".

KUNG LAO: Kung Lao does not have the strongest Overhead/Low Mix-Up, but he makes up for it with high mobility. Kung Lao's "Dive Kick" and "Teleport" let him quickly close-in on an opponent when they make a mistake

LIU KANG: Liu Kang has fewer attacks that can threaten an opponent at mid-range, but he has a variety of fast attacks that make him dangerous up-close. He's also effective at long-range, thanks to his fast "Fireballs" and "Flying Dragon Kick".

NOOB SAIBOT: Noob Saibot uses a mix longe-range and defensive attacks that make him an effective Zoner, especially when he equips variuos projectile abilities.

RAIDEN: Raiden has a mix of fast advancing attacks and projectiles that can threaten an opponent at mid and long range. His attacks are great at punishing an opponent for missing an attack, even when they are at a distance.

SCORPION: Scorpion is a great character to play if you're a beginner at Mortal Kombat. He has good mid-range attacks for controlling space in neutral situation, and his special moves are great for extending kombos and punishing predictable opponents.

SHAO KAHN: Shao Kahn has a variety of aggressive attacks that are great for closing-in on an opponent and pushing them to the corner.

SONYA: Sonya is rewarded when she plays aggressively and gets in the opponent's face. She has many moves that let her mix-up her opponent with overhead and low attacks that can be risky, but lead to damaging kombo opportunities.

SUB-ZERO: Sub-Zero's signature "Ice Ball" and "Slide" give him answers to opponents that are attacking with projectiles at a distance. Up-close he can mix-up Overhead and low attacks that lead to a vortex of combos.
