Which MK could've been the best? (Besides MK9)

Since many of us enjoyed previous MK games that essentially never had such a life as MK9... which one in your opinion could've been a great game?

Pick one... and this almost has to be between MK4, MKD and MKA... lol

I really enjoyed MKD... MKA i hated besides Shinnok.
