Which characters do you actually have equipped with the default skin?

Basically as a way to determine which MK11 characters you felt had the best default stock redesigns for MK11, I'm curious to know which characters, if any, you still have equipped with the base starter skin in its original palette (ie. literally as they would be if you start a fresh new game, that also show up by before your skin loads when you select your fighter as well as in the avatars for the character select menu)? It doesn't have to be your default, but at least in use in one of your 5 variation slots.

I'm not a fan of pretty much most of the default skins MK11 had, in fact with Skarlet I don't have a single non-DLC skin equipped for her as I don't really like any of her original base game designs (and I've got all 5 loadouts filled), least of all her horrid default. The revenants especially were the very first characters I desperately felt I had to change into their human forms and classic colours.

However I did have yellow D'Vorah in her default ratty gown as one of my variations up until only last month (I only changed it when I got the brown leather KL version from the meteor tower to spice it up after so long). So it was sadly only one for me... and now none.

I have got the base skin in non-standard colours in use on variations for Mileena (black with purple trim), Rain (dark purple with silver trim), Geras (lilac pants with dark purple trim), Cassie (army olive), Jax (blue jeans, white shirt), Erron Black (burgundy cloak and dark blue armour), Robocop (blue Robocop 2 version) and Sheeva (white armour and brown leather), but none in their stock palette.

So who for you do you think looks great out of the gate and have kept as the game originally intended, or have you scrapped all of the stock outfits in favour of better choices you've unlocked?

Kitana. Her base revenant skin is great, though I've changed the gear to match Story Mode. Jade. I really like Sub-Zero's but oddly never use it.

Mileena too, though no gear change.

Granted, I rotate skins a lot.

Cassie Cage has a really awesome default skin. Kitana's default is fine but as Juxtapose said she must IMO have the Story Mode Mask. I like the Robocop default skins but if I play him I prefer the Gold One. I kinda like the Sonya default skins and dif colors too. I have not unlocked Cassie's one green KL skin yet but that looks super cool.

I think the Sonya skins with the giant star are just....ugh. I mean....how can you take her seriously wearing that with her dialogue.

I never change any skins or player cards etc. I dont play MK11 (but for the 2 months I did the same) but in X and Injustices everything is just default. I've never cared about customisable stuff just for sake of appearance in any game I've played really.

Wow, well that's fair enough, it takes different strokes to move the world. For me, character customisation is a massive part of any game I play that I put so much time into and love every second of it - hell in GTA online I've got different outfits just for different social situations (even just for going to the casino) and have spent ages in the game just going shopping.

The customisation in MK11 is one of the things that's had me love it more than any other MK game and I've been a fan since the very beginning, it makes me feel like I'm the costume designer on a new Mortal Kombat movie and I can make every character completely 'mine'. It honestly gives me a much more personal connection to this game knowing that's 'my' Kitana, 'my' Skarlet or 'my' Scorpion and I love having the hunt for that one mask or weapon that would really spice up and compliment an outfit. Not to mention that having that desire to change the appearance of some characters to something I find much more aesthetically pleasing has me picking up characters I wouldn't normally use just to buy them some new clothes haha. But to each their own :)

Baraka, Frost, Rain, Shao Kahn, Kabal, Kollector, Fujin, Cassie, Sheeva, Rambo, Kotal and D'vorah at the top of my head. I like most of the defaults (except for revenant ones which I detest as a default choice), it's just that other combinations are better for me.

I'm not huge on customizable stuff either. I tend to do it, but don't obsess over it and would have no issue if all that stuff went away. A basic skin system, like what's in Mortal Kombat XL, was excellent for my needs. The one in Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate is pretty convoluted.

You're also talking to the guy who, in an RPG with full facial customization, typically just grabs the default face or close enough to it.

Yeah tbf on MKX it was just pressing square and picking from a list so I would sometimes pick a different one, but not often. In Injustice 2 I think I did it a bit at the start of the game for my current main, then never changed it and anyone else was just default. I'm the same in RPG's. Especially first person games I see no point. The clothes the character is wearing or their hairstyle adds nothing to the enjoyment game for me.

It just so happens for this game that the default aesthetics for most of the characters just don't do it for me and there's cool gear items I like too.

As for the skins, I refer to story mode and which costumes appeared there most often. So my defaults as defaults are Shao, Frost, Johnny, Cassie, Noob (with story mask), Baraka, Jacqui (though the shoes are a bit weird), Kabal, D'Vorah, Kotal, Sheeva, Geras, Kollector, Mileena, Cetrion and Rain.

I like the girls without masks (even Frost), with the exception of Mileena :D

Default revenants is a very bad move (except maybe for Kabal, though his dialogues are "human" and not "revenant"), spacesuit Cassie skins and default-ish Skarlet short hair skins are just awful, Kano and Liu tattoo skins are pretty bad as well. Overall, IMO the default skins should be the most frequent story mode ones - I mean, come on, isn't it obvious, NRS??

I still don't have Kitana's story skin and Jax's klassic arms, as I didn't have the game during these krypt events (I bought it one year after release).

Also, I fill my slots with default colors of the other skins, I don't really care for recolors or stuff like knives or guns. The only missing for me is Skarlet's Blood Magic (along with LIu's Young Justice and Sub-Zero's Tundra because frkn krypt events), since I don't play ko-op towers and it doesn't appear in random rewards.

Moreover, since I didn't buy any Kombat Pack or Aftermath because of the guests, I don't have klassic Sonya, "klassic" Cassie, MK3 trio girls, or Shang's movie and Sorcerer Supreme (and this other one with armor) skins, and the rest I was able to get with krystals or race against time. I hope they will be available somehow eventually, as well as all victory poses, taunts and brutalities.

Speaking of which, I try to get all taunts and brutalities, but again I have to wait for salvation since I have never played KL. The only way so far is random reward or krypt events, for fk's sake. I don't know how but I missed the November one with Johnny and Jacqui brutalities, otherwise they would be complete. So far I have like only 8/32 characters with all taunts and brutalities... However, I hunt for human-revenant skins for Liu, Kitana, Lao and Jade - I already have almost 50 KL skins by meteor way, but still don't have them LOL.

Ok so I have to follow Ed's Twitter in order to get stuff in the game...? What a nonsense... Of course I missed it :) Good luck with waiting another year or so... Hopefully when all the DLCs cycles end, there will be a possibility to get all these things in other, normal way.

His twitter was annoyingly how the first Golden Krypt Events were announced, but after around the fourth one or fifth one I believe they began turning up in the game Notifications. It was so stupidly annoying that I had to keep an eye on his personal twitter posts to not miss some of the most desired gear pieces in the game and was delighted when it all seemed to become announced in the game instead. Sadly it seems he's gone back to doing it which is really unfair for people who've gone without for so long :mad:

I have changed every fighter's outfit except RoboCop and D'Vorah (every other skin on her looks ugly to me :laughing:)

And RoboCop is so iconic, I can't change the style (only have the damaged one in silver too)

I am sure you can also get those Jax Arms (or whatever item you search for) without any event.
You should get them by completing towers (+Brutal difficulty) and "grind" until you get it.
If this does not work, I am sure you can get it in the "Try your luck" tower you have to summon.
You get this tower-key after any other tower-key is used and finished.
(requires good augments to beat it tho, as no other items are allowed)
