What platform should I be using?

I've been playing MKT on my old PSX console but both the game and the console itself are gradually dying. I'm looking to upgrade to UMK3 (as I understand MKT is buggy? correct me if I'm wrong) and for alternatives to playing on my PSX and I'm thinking maybe Roms/Emulators? If anyone could point in a reliable direction for Roms and stuff I would be very appreciative.

Mortal Kombat Trilogy for PSX is in my honest opinion (fact) the best and most practical way to play a classic MK game. There some downsides like yes, there are some new not very well tested characters added in, but you just don't see any UMK3 arcade machines everywhere you go, nor do you see any good ported version. The final versions of trilogy (Greatest Hits for PSX and the final release for PC) had gameplay extremely close to UMK3 arcade. There are actual 'buggy' versions of trilogy which refers to the first release of trilogy on PSX which actually said "Playstation Exclusive" on the cover. The main difference in this was moon gravity. This made almost all combos easier and added a whole bunch to it.

Unlike other ports of games, MKT final releases did not have any added/changed gameplay with the exception of new moves and characters in comparison with umk3.
