OK, I have given it some thought and what I would like to do about this, to get some serious tournament scheduling and ranking system in effort to freshen up the competition, is get some guys on here who are dependable, knowledgable, etc to help run these tournaments.

I would ideally like to have 10 names available so there can be at least one person on say, every Saturday night to help run things via the chat room on here, especially if I'm not around. Anyone who wants to help out and run weekly tournaments, post in here. It doesn't mean you can't play, it just means you will be a back up in case the person ahead of you isn't available, and you can also help during the tournament regardless, if needed. You will be specifically appointed to help contact players as the matches go on, report results to the head coordinators. I'll set up the list as I see fit. Right now, the main problem is keeping track.

DreemerNJ and I were both here when I set up that tournament, and it turned out to be tough to run because it was basically one person at one comp at any one time. This tournament never finished.

Deadlines are going to be strict, player limits will be enforced. Manditory contact outside of match rooms, like, chat, PM, email, xbox messaging, etc, will be necessary to play. Crankiness on the other hand, will not be necessary.

The rules remain the same, date and time announced, players show up to the chat room (we had 24 at one point in the chat last time), and the brackets are made.

Let me know guys, I want to see some ranks.

Although i have no experience running tournaments and the likes. I will be willing to attend every Saturday to help out.

As posted in another thread, I am extremely willing to help coordinate and run tournaments. I won't be able to play since I no longer have my 360, but I can get people moving, brackets set up, and get people into matches, etc. by being in the chat room.

I'd be more than willing to offer my services in any form possible.

Unfortunately though, I do not have a wireless network which wont allow me to be logged onto XBL and ultimatemk.com at the same time.

Let me know though !!!

Sup guys.... there is an old program that was written by a CS student that might be useful to us. It's called "Self bracket" maybe written in C++ or VB.

I'd set it up so certain players are responsible to get certain portions of the brackets moving. So say we had 4 guys helping run, and 16 players, each person would be responsible for 4 players (2 matches) in the first round, then 1 match in the 2nd, etc. It'd be so much easier if we had even 2 people running, one person coordinating, one person updating brackets.

Right now the main idea is getting enough back ups so we can have a tournament every week that counts as part of the rank system.

i am available all day on saturdays, sometimes i'm not at comp or xbox, but if i was texted on AIM or something on my phone i'd be able to get to a comp or xbox without within 20 mins, depending if i am home or not

Well, shit.. I was just offering my participation; help.
Oh I understand...it's just that I don't come across many posts where people outright say they have no life......and sound damn serious when they say it too. :D

I could imagine it now, Cwel Vonzilla losing his match in the tournament and going "FUCK YOU, PEICE OF $^#&$^# MUTHER FUCKER SHIT BAG" and booting the guy. Then placing himself on bracket saying he won

:D

You betcha.

Oh, and lol.. You misspelled "Piece" and "Mother". And I also want to state "LOL" at the $^$%#$% that you put before "Muther Fucker"... Why censor some curse words and put the others? :D

kekek, only bustin ya balls.

Yeah, i've been posting on a forum that has a censor, so i expected it to censor fuck and stuff and i threw in $^&#^@ for no apprant reason..? wtf i still cant type, too early in the morning and i just woke up aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

OK guys, tonight I talked with DreemerNJ quite a bit about how we want to handle weekly tournaments. I know it's been a long time since I mentioned the idea but I also mentioned that it would be difficult to run them unless we had guaranteed members helping out with at least coordinating the night of so this way we don't have to be there every single time.

We're going to set up an automated feature for the site for the tournament it looks like. Right now what we're going for is something that would require logging in, and entering your Gamertag (or Kaillera nick which you will have to use when you play and keep it that way for ranks), so this way it'll link the two up and create a big list to reference with, and once the Tournament Coordinator verifies all the members involved basically by just clicking a publish button or something so that way no more players can enter, the brackets will be randomly generated and published on a generic page, something like "ultimatemk.com/bracket". Players will be able to check the brackets and they will appear updated as they go. This way the players will update the brackets instead of having to report them which gets bothersome and messy.

From there the first line of player gamertags, not usernames, will be displayed so you know who you have to contact. The players involved in the tournament per match will be able to click "Won or Lost" button, or maybe even just both players select the player who won their match. When that the bracket sees both players have authenticated a winner, it will advance the winner to the next round in the bracket.

Of course, this sounds like it'll be limited only to players who have access to internet and XBL in the same house, which in I will say 99% of cases works. We can probably devise a way around it but I think for starters it'll work like this. To verify everyone understands how this will work, you'll have to login into a page for your gamertag and board username, in which the info will be supplied there.

Hope you guys like the idea and once we get something accomplished we'll be ready to go. I'm trying to learn php so I can help out. If this works out, we'll be able to have weekly tournaments with no hassle, and we'll be able to make a site ranking system. People will have to accept lag and what not, all the issues that are involved and understand it's a fun sorta thing. When you guys can start making it out to live tournaments, that's where the money will come into play!
