Hey guys,

This is something that i really want to ask everybody in this community. With the mass speculation/leak/reveal of MK10, it's important that we all take some things on board, things that we've all learned from our time with MK9 and Injustice.

DO NOT OVER REACT TO EVERY SINGLE LITTLE THING.

What I mean is, every time something would be revealed, like a character havigng certain setups/tools/strengths, the communtiy would throw a massive fit, complain and cry for nerfs till the Cows come home. This straight up can't happen with MK10, in my opinion of course. Because all we end up with is characters being nerfed, others being buffed (sometimes unnecessarily), and we just end up with a different list of braindead top 5 characters.

No more "nerf Kano Up Ball",

No more "MK is dominated by zoners",

No more "nerf low hat",

No more "you guys are up playing your character",

No more "Deathstroke rules Injustice 2 days in",

No more "this character is too strong" threads being made daily,

And so on.

If something is revealed, we have to pull together as a community and figure it out. Break it down and see if it's as bad as we think it is, if it is, we come up with ways to try and counter it with our respected characters. Lets not think about what we can't do, and lets focus on what we CAN do.

If someone thinks their character is better than everyone makes out, lets listen to what they have to say. Get some games in with them and see what they're talking about. Don't judge a community as a whole because of their tournament placing characters, and lets not think that our scene is the be all end all to pay attention to. Because this gets proven wrong time and time again.

Finally, lets use MK10 as a chance to become the best tournament players we've ever been. I loved what we all managed to achieve with MK9, I strongly believe the TYM community took that game to a completely different level in the two years it was played worldwide. Lets do this even more with the next installment.

Cheers, guys!

I agree with this, we know NRS nerfs or buffs characters when the community is crying... Like some people cry for their characters 2 days after launch, it's annoying. I don't want more Kanos, Deathstrokes, Banes, Flashes.... Really!

If it were up to me the first balance patch wouldn't even come out until at least 3 months after release. By that time, the casual retards who send messages saying "FUCKIN NO SKILL COMBO SPAMMER" have gone back to CoD and only more dedicated players remain. Hotfixing infinites would be the only exception. Great post, Ketchup.

I agree, ppl need the game to breathe a lil bit, after a week they think they are already "Experts" smh. ppl have to discover things alot before making assumptions.

Ayy Lmao
But I hear people say Inj is way more balanced than MK9 ever was

I don't play Injustice, is this true or are we all making shit up again
Well at the start people said Inj is very balanced and that there was no 7-3, 8-2, and now some people think there are 7-3s in the game, but I remember people saying MK was very balanced at the start of MK too. Don't get me wrong tho, Inj is way more balanced than MK ever was.

Its not us its the newcomers that scream and whine. Sure we all agree, but once the game is here instantly and not just on TYM someone will be already claiming something is broke. We will have to contend to spamming claims again online. People should voice their opinion, but we do need to approach that opinion cautiously. The community needs to police itself and above all it needs to let the game evolve and when we finally prove that something is broke we need to not just call out for a fix and a patch, but we need to also drop the let it rock mentality and actually start issuing bans for once. Part of what hurt both these previous games was we didn't want do this we just said fuck it, then our game became a laughing stock to many. Sure we show it off we ask nicely for NRS to fix things, but above all we ban shit until its fixed.

Even *IF* every single person on this site agreed to this it wouldn't matter because the release of MK10 will trigger a flood of new players, the majority of which have zero interest in leveling up and have barely any knowledge of the tournament scene. Moreover, TYM is hardly the only source NRS listens too, and good luck getting other gaming forums to adopt this practice. There WILL be cries for nerfs and buffs after 1 day of this game, the best we can hope for is that NRS has gotten better about knowing who to listen too, and recognize when people are just not quite playing at a high enough level.

Moreover...as has often been pointed out, people need to keep in mind that a lot of times developers have balance adjustments in mind that they intend to implement but haven't done so because they've been too focused on getting a stable build out for release. Patching is going to happen, and people need to just accept it as a reality, and in the case of injustice it basically saved the damn game.

Don't forget NRS probably doesn't have all the time in the world to sit on one project before WB steps in and tells them to make more money. Patching a game doesn't do that for them. It'll keep hardcore players interested and get exposure through tournaments and such yea, but lets be real we're all going to buy the game day one, and that's where the money is at.

I, ColdBoreMK23, take you, Mortal Kombat 10, as my friend and love, in front of me and apart from me, in buffs and in nerfs, in hype and rage ,asking that you have no more bullshit 100% resets, loving the vanilla version of what I know of you, trusting the patches what I do not yet know, in all the ways that life may find us.

Unless NRS re-evaluates their patching frequency and the information they disclose (variable frame data and CORRECT frame data), it's still gonna spiral out of control too quickly to ever completely keep under wraps. Granted, there is a good chance next gen hardware may be the lead development platform so maybe there'll be better means of doing that.

Another problem is simply "next best character syndrome" if you will. I still find it odd that there was no mass-QQing over Superman until after the Scorpion "rules of the game" debacle died down.
