Watching Max's breakdown, 18 looks REAL strong

I know it's a bit late, but I just got around to watching this myself. Thought I saw enough of 18 to get a feel for how she plays, but I didn't realize how good partner 17 made her. That anti-assist mode can shut down a lot of setups and I guess she'll be safe on any string ending with a 17 combo? I didn't play enough of the beta to get the hang of her, but I'm definitely feeling her for my team

she's looking really good, but she's been nerfed a little since this video.

  • super doesn't track full screen
  • combos into 17 are either harder or removed
  • command grabs were nerfed in range

All the utility the character has is still there tho


im definitely interested in her too

If that's the case, I might just move her from point to mid. A lot depends on how I well I jive with Hit or Frieza vs her, Kid Buu is the only confirmation on my team so far

I feel like she's a super strong point character. She requires little to no meter and her setups with 17 and the right assist can net you an early advantage if you know how to utilize her.

How are we feeling about her assist so far? I think it theory is great, but I haven't really seen it be all that useful in an actual match.

It blocks projectiles and I think it gives you meter as well. In theory this seems great, but I don't know.

Android 18 seems more like a point character anyway, so maybe her assist is not meant to be that great.

Yeah...that seems womp as fuck. It would take too much coordination to really apply that assist. BUT if it also builds the person's meter already fighting, then that can be a good use. Just spam the hell out of that assist when your meter is low.
