I preordered this game when I went to pick up GTA 5 back in October, but haven't had a chance to get it, nor the time to play it. This is the only game I've ever ordered 8 months in advance, simply because the E3 presentation looked so good. Does anyone here own it yet? If so, what are your thoughts on the overall gameplay?

I got it for ps4
this game is hella fun
more fun than gta5 imo
graphics are good too even if we all know that it has been downgraded since the first e3 presentation
city is huge and lots of things to see and do

Might be my tastes in videogames but i think watchdawgs was hyped up too much , nothing really refreshing about it. However if you like sandbox stuff and you want a new gen game play it , nothing special about it imo.

lol ive had no problems with the xbone, no bugs or nothing lol Its a very good game imo and at first i was very uninterested in it, but after seeing a few trailers and once i played it. I love it, it is awesome!

I'm gonna make this skill gap... disappear.
That sucks :/. Has Ubisoft issued a statement on fixing them?
It's nothing major that I've seen, just a lot of little things that take away from the experience. Also, I saw an article from one of the developers saying that they needed to redo things like train tracks because they made 80 mph 90 degree turns and stupid looking shit like that, and the publishers just said "we don't see a problem and want to push release". You may still really enjoy the gameplay and such, which might make things like that not matter, but stuff like that can bother me if the game isn't strong enough and I also heard the story winds up being kinda lame and bland.
Doesn't seem like the kinda stuff that will get patched, but who knows.

I heard it's good, but nothing amazing (at least, not as groundbreakingly awesome as it looked or was hyped up to be). So pretty much along the lines of what Stevo/Crathen are saying.

Just gonna leave this here:
Roflmao, the part where he stepped off the the train platform at 1:35!

Edit: And the motorcycle truck fire, that's hillarious

Every game definitely has its bugs.

Basically it's a better GTA

The side missions and such are pretty standard blah fair of something from GTA, not really anything interesting in that department. They just spice up the police chases and such with things you can hack to fuck with the police.

The MP (specifically the hacking game) is a like online hide and seek and can be fairly entertaining with the lulz that can go down trying to avoid the other player.

The story is where it's best imo.

Dude you can shoot some in the foot and they die.

You shoot the water, no splash effect.

There are numerous clipping bugs all throughout the game.

The story is campy and uninteresting.

Driving is worse than GTA4.

Watch Dogs is a bill.
I've seen the bad driving complaint a few times on other forums. Thanks everyone for your input.

I'm pretty sure you can shoot someone in the foot in pretty much any game and they'll die lol. Speaking of which I was chasing a guy and shot him in the legs 4 times trying to kill him and he didn't die.

Yeah the driving kinda sucks lol.

9/10 IMO, love the game so far. LOTS of stuff to go find/do and the online stuff is pretty cool too. Haven't had many if any noticeable bugs on the 360 myself, then again I don't shoot water -_- some of the driving is a bit weird but it's cool

A prop on the stage of life.
Pros:

-A game in Chicago. I think we need more Chicago in our games.
-While a limited amount of things to hack, I feel it is neither short or excessive in number
-LOTS of missions. Story and otherwise will keep you busy for a long time if you invest in it.
-Mission variety (I'm watching the credits roll and I didn't feel like any one mission was repetitive in its nature)
-The mission music is pretty cool, and so is the song selection in cars
-Upgrades give incentives to play "well" (get headshots, takedowns instead of killing with body shots, etc.)
-One of the best police forces you will ever encounter (seriously they have like a 5 second response time)
-Car chases are fun
-The UI works well on console and surprisingly isn't overwhelming

Cons:

-Profiling/hacking civilians gets tedious, but does yield rewards (money, songs, cars)
-Massive slowdown between completing a mission and it saving/loading the icons on the map (I classify this as a minor issue, it didn't really affect my experience)
-Driving feels a little weird, but serviceable
-Some objects or people will render improperly or in a weird way, and phasing object (very rare for me, happened twice in my entire playthrough)
-I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but I seem to get stuck in cover for an extra second when I try to "unstick" from the cover spot to move freely. Annoying.

Final thoughts:

Game is good, ambitious. Perhaps too much. It looks nice, its a blast to play, and has tons of content to keep you occupied.
