UPDATED w/ Gameplay Footage: Shadow Jago Revealed for Killer Instinct

The curtains have been pulled back to reveal the ninth character in the expanding roster for Xbox One's Killer Instinct title, and that is Shadow Jago. The reveal occurred during Microsoft's demonstration stream for the game as of yesterday. In this article posted at EventHubs.com, Shadow Jago's characteristics are discussed, most notably the description for his appearance and his attacks. It should be noted that Shadow Jago is only available to those who purchase the Xbox Live Gold Day One membership for Xbox One, so if this is your character of choice, make plans to get your own subscription.

For months now, we have heard that an exclusive "Shadow Jago" character would come included with the Day One edition of Xbox Live Gold. Very, very little was known about this mysterious fighter, up until now.

During Microsoft Studio's Killer Instinct stream today, Shadow Jago was finally revealed, and a bit of information about this character was divulged. Firstly, Shadow Jago looks like a ghastly version of Jago (of course), with a skull like mask covering most of his face.

Nice - this looks soooo much better than the original emo version. I loved Jago in the older KI's, but the new one he looks like a Anime reject with emo hair :( This mask, and tone make up for the softness :D

It carries over from 360. BUT if you want the Jago exclusive, you have to purchase the 12 month Beacon Card a.k.a. membership

Well, you have til February for this offer, and even then, there is still a chance they will offer this character in other ways. I mean, if you were going to get a membership anyway, this is just an added bonus. lol Besides, your old membership carries over. Don't overreact.

Watching the gameplay video, he's just a re-skin with some more tweaks like fireball colours and voice

there are other ways to get xbl for cheaper :confused: so why spend the full 60 when most places you can get it for 40. idk how you don't see the $$ hunger.

They said on stream that they have plans to give him a different move set from standard Jago, but time has been a concern. He will probably be revamped after Fulgore comes out.

Now now, let's not sugar coat it and pretend like it's amazing news just because we support KI. Let's call it what it is: Lazy ass clone character because they couldn't come up with a decent boss like Eyedol or Gargos. It's not cool when Capcom or Namco does it and it's not cool for KI either. We only forgive them because they are a smaller team.

Anyway if he's a day 1 exclusive DLC then he'll be banned at tourneys. So Shadow Jago remains irrelevant like Kratos and Fat Megaman.

I remember Shadow Jago from KI2 ... Jago was the only character with this funcitonality.

I think he looks 1000x better than normal Jago lol

He's kinda day 1 exclusive. The fine print says he will be available to everyone in March and DH said they are going to make changes to him so that he is his own character. They said he already has his own stage and story for him. Plus you can only get so much of a game made when the company that is paying the bills and calls the shots wants the game ready by the launch of their system. DH did what they could with the time they were given.
