UMK3 #1 in all?

I would like to know your views on this, but...
there's another fighting game that has aroused much interest and passion as UMK3(mainly; as well as mk2)?
I've seen guides, several websites, communities, several hacks (which themselves are hard to do), etc, etc... about Mk games.
I don't know the impact they have had other classics like "Street Fighter" and "The King of Fighters" (for me of much less value than MK) in this sense, but some is compared with that name above in relation to MK games?

My favorite of all time is Killer Instinct. Spent 2 years of my life on that game years ago. Back then there were huge lines at the arcade for it. When MK3 came it had a big following also, but not as big as KI in my circle. I didn't play MK3 because of the block was so awkward to me and everyone had played Mk2, so I just got my butt kicked when I tried... Wish I had though, because I starting playing UMK3 fourteen months ago and I am way behind . UMk3 is now a close second (just wish it had 50 hit combos)
