Trouble combo breaking

i feel like such a noob asking but this is the only way i will learn properly. How do you combo break? I know its forward and block but i cant seem to break right when i want to and end up spamming and you never want to spam in a fighting game. This is my first MK game and i was good at injustice. So do you press forward and block on the hit you want to break or do you hold forward then press block or vise versa? hopefully im not the only one and others are too afraid to ask

just hold forward + block simultaneously, no need to time it.

the more you play you will get the hang of it when you want to break and when not.

Also, pay attention to your stamina bar since breakers use up a bit of that as well. I thought my breakers were inconsistent for no reason until I realized that.
