ye pretty much,main point of them is so you can have more than two arcade sticks plugged in at one time.
same thing happened at a event here, even though i let the TO know weeks in advance if he wanted to run tag he'd have to pick up one of them

I believe you can use a regular non-powered USB Hub similar to what Rock Band came with to allow multiple instruments that use USB. Original PS3's like the one I have that came out on Launch have 4 USB ports/ Multiple card readers (micro-sd etc..) & have the original PS2 hardware in the system that allows you to play PS2 games. Anyway i am sure theres a non-power HUB should future team tourneys are planed being that Sony removed the multiple USB ports among other things on each newer PS3 model since launch.

It's the older generation fatbois that have 4 ports. When they streamlined the hardware to lower the price point, they took out the backwards compatibility boards and 2 of the USB ports. I have one :D
