Important Notice: This is not a demand or a serious change I'm even looking for.
As of last night it was my first time doing online test your luck & offline test your luck. Both players getting hit with damage reduction and nothing else, so no traps, assists, explosions etc.
What I noticed is Mortal Kombat Xs abundant amount of 50/50 resets are so much more "fun" to deal with when you're netting 14% to 24% per guess as opposed to 30%+. Due to not taking as much damage, breakers gain much more utility than a last resort means of clinging to life. Hell you actually had half a reason to X-ray now.
Meter management felt more important because there were more options with it. Breaker doesn't so you too much good if someone can 3 touch kill you. At least in 5 to 7 touches you can pick your spots. Running out of stamina never really seemed like it killed the whole game. Although pokes lose some utility since they'd only net you 1 to 2.5% at the most. However it definitely made cancel pressure still good but doing less chip and on hit still rewarding yet not 45 to 60% wreckage.
So would you be alright if everyone did half damage? Would that be interesting to try? And once again I'm not saying this is a change that should EVER be implemented. Half of the fun in MK is the damage and the impact of these combos. Besides I'm aware at some of the shortsightedness in a raw damage reduction. As it'd be another nerf to the "Zoning" of MKX and some fast meter building characters might get Kabal meter syndrome etc.
