The Mortal Kombat Legacy director, Kevin Tancharoen did finally spill the beans on some news regarding the sequel. From the sounds of it, the sequel to Mortal Kombat Legacy, which is set to begin filming on November 28th in Los Angeles, will focus on the actual Mortal Kombat tournament and will tell the 'origins' of characters. Bloody-Disgusting.com has learned this recently and to add to it, two characters 'Bi Han', more commonly known as Noob Saibot and 'Kuai Liang', more commonly known as Sub-Zero will be a part of this.

It was revealed at the San Diego Comic-Con this past July that writer/director Kevin Tancharoen would return for a second season of the Mortal Kombat: Legacy web series. “I can break the silence and tell you guys what it’s going to be about. It’s going to be about the actual Mortal Kombat tournament this time,” said Tancharoen.
Bloody Disgusting has just learned exclusively that the new series will tell the origins of various characters from Bi Han to Kuai Liang. While we’ll learn of the backgrounds of the various cast of characters, we’ll also see them find them fighting for the right to control the Earthrealm. Shooting begins November 28 in Los Angeles.

They've delayed the third movie since the late 90s. Wtf is the hold-up? Legacy was cool but I want another movie. Mortal Kombat is arguably the best game-to-movie adaption and it made good movie if my memory serves me correctly. This series needs more than a decently-directed series of 12-minute episodes.

MK Movies. Hmm... the first one had great photography, the original (Tobias) story adapted to movie as best as they could and not-too-bad acting. I didn't like the second one. I thought it was kind of weak, I'm sorry to say. Cage dying though made me glad I watched it. Eheh.

Legacy was win, even if it's not 100% to the original story, I liked just about everything about it. Raiden episode was dope, and loved the Scorpion/Subzero myth remade.

What I'm saying is that there's no need for another short series. Give the fans what they've been waiting over 10 years for already.
The link I gave you explains that he is actually directing the $40 million feature film as well (announced last week), which I'm sure is now where his priorities lie.

"Sometime in 2013" is not a release date. I remember back after Annihilation came out I was on the Internet everyday looking for new info on when Devastation would release. I heard everything from "Sometime in 2001" to "Sometime in 2003." Then it went into development hell and never came out.

For a full movie, I'd rather see something related to the game, close in appearance and story, with great acting and the photography quality of the first movie at the very least. Which , lbsh, is not a lot to ask these days. Look at the marvel movies, they were fab.

Whenever I see discussion about MK Annihilation, I immediately think about the hilarious flip Robin Kang does to avoid Smokes missile. Best flip ever.

If you look closely, that flip was unneeded. The missile wouldn't have hit him in the first place lol.

what about how they used the same exact shot for both Rain's and one of the Barakas' deaths lol. Annihilation really is one of the funniest movies i have ever seen.
"Mother, you're alive!"
"Too bad you, will die!"
