Super Smash Bros. Brawl+

To play this, your Wii must be modded to have access to Homebrew Channel. If you haven't modded your Wii, check here for information on how to do so. It's not all that hard, but you do risk bricking your Wii (like I somewhat did, lmao). However, just in case, read this guide so that you can have the stuff required to unbrick yourself in the off chance that it does happen.

Main Brawl+ Site: http://brawlplus.net/

If you haven't heard, Brawl+ is a modification of Super Smash Bros. Brawl. What Brawl+ aims to do is to change some features of the game to make it better suited for competitive play. These changes include:

-Remove tripping
-Increase hitstun to allow combos
-Increase shieldstun to make attacking the shield safer than it was
-Alter character physics to better fit playstyles
-Slight frame speed, hitbox, and conditional action alterations to optimize gameplay and balance.

Basically, it reverses the anti-competition features that Sakurai put in because he doesn't like competition in his games. >_>

If you have Brawl and you hate tripping, laggy-ass aerials, shieldgrab + DDD = win, then Brawl+ is for you. :)

Although you risk the off-shot of your Wii bricking, I'd highly recommend getting this. The game's very fun, indeed.

I was told that you can recover 99% of bricked Wii's, so long as you make a NAND backup while modding.
I have restored my Wii two or three times now with no problems. Oh, and it's fucking awesome when you get it done.

That's very true. I fucked up, though, so I can't access the System Menu, but I can still do everything else.

Not like there's no way around it, lol. And it is indeed amazing once it's done. Playing games from a USB drive, watching DVDs on it, internet radio, emulators, homebrew games, etc...it's sick.

Also, just to let everyone know, Brawl+ is pretty close to being completed. A "Near Gold" version has been released to the public.

I got some play-time with Brawl+ "Near Gold" (aka version 6.0), and I gotta say...it's well worth nearly screwing up my Wii to get it, lmao.

The game's just that good now. Aerials are much better, combos exist, the increased shieldstun makes for safety that vBrawl lacked, and overall it's just fun and fast-paced now.

Pretty much what the game should have been from the beginning. :)
