Just throwing out a quick thought (no poll at the moment as it may be stupid, just some feedback).
A lot of people are complaining about how interactables are easily exploitable. I have a simple suggestion: make normal usage of interactables cost 1 bar of meter (except those like Gotham helicopter or Atlantis throne), MB interactable now cost 2 bars of meter.
Right now my reasoning is:
- MB interactable costs 1 bar of meter - on a stages like Atlantis (water pumps), Wayne manor (car) they do easy damage, cover almost full screen and provide several hits of armor... this should be more about getting out rather than turtling in the corner, if pushblock is 1 bar, 2 bars is reasonable trade for damage and knockdown
- scenario: power character on Watchtower or Metropolis rooftop ends combo in knockdown, eliminates free damage - 1 bar for additional 20% guaranteed sounds more reasonable...
- meter conservation game - opponent have more meter than me, do I chunk this interactable that just flew above my head or conserve meter for clash?
- no more jumping for TV's in the beginning of the match, no more pig volleyball for eternity
- some more scenarios I can't think about right now, but this probably would provide more depth to the metagame
One thing I'm not sure about is how would this affect non-power characters, although this would eliminate some of those ridiculous extension combos like 6-bar Scorpion combos or Batman with Superman's spaceship.
I'm ready for getting blown up if this is stupid idea, but I'd like to hear more thoughts about it. Discuss.
